Sounds like he was sorry he got caught.

I feel like it’s slightly different since Twi’leks have human faces and bodies and the only difference is the lekku. Whereas Mon Calamari skin is rough, webbed, and their faces aren’t remotely human. But I guess Sy Snootles and Ziro were a thing, so what do I know.
I’m reminded of the Furry Scale 😂 But hey, to each their own as long as all parties are fully consenting!
I suspect the fish anon is referring to the idea of Poe being boyfriends with Dumail Ackbar. (Moth)
Ohhh that! I don’t see a problem personally, dumail is a fully sentient person (link). SW doesn’t seem quite as interspecies relationship-happy as Star Trek, but it’s happened in canon esp. with human men and Twi’lek women. I don’t see how it’s any worse than Kanan or Lando having relationships–and in Kanan’s case, a kid–with tentacle-headed women.
An alt-right troll found some really, really, REALLY old tweets of Gunn were he made some edgy jokes and got him fired from Disney. Granted, they tweets were gross but James admitted they were gross and apologized for those tweets many times
Yeah that’s shitty. So like, unrepentent sexual predators can take some of the highest offices in the land but people who apologize and learn from the wrong they did will be summarily fired?
James Gunn once hosted a “pedophile party” where he dressed up as a priest and women wore little girls’ school outfits and nightgowns. He also traded sexual jokes about children with a man later found to be hoarding child porn. That’s the main reason I’m glad to see him go.
Eeeeewwwwww what

@jaculvaserinelozor I think
it’s way different from, say, being too outspoken against Kavanaw.
The sheer volume and intensity of these jokes are uncomfortable and I
can understand why the Mouse doesn’t want to be associated with him
anymore. It’s fine if he’s a different person, he can be a different person elsewhere. And if he truly is sorry then he wouldn’t be adverse to being held accountable by being fired, would he? It’s not like his career is over, it looks like another major studio snapped him up already.
That Elevator question from the one anon was weird…. how is a Revan fanboy comparable to Azula apologists and Reylos?! The worst I’ve seen them do is insist that Revan can beat any other Jedi/Sith in a fight (he can’t btw) and get shitty with people who don’t agree
Too much a hard-on for destroying entire planets maybe? I haven’t heard anything about Revan stans on par with those other groups, but I’m not very deep in KOTOR fandom.
Um… am I the only one who feels uncomfortable about that fact that Poe’s ex is… a fish?

“Chuck Wendig says he was removed from the ‘Shadow of Vader’ series with two issues left unwritten over the “negativity and vulgarity” his tweets bring” “Star Wars writer Chuck Wendig claims Marvel fired him for “vulgarity” and “too much politics” on his social media”
I’m kinda happy about that because I don’t like Wendig or his writing a whole lot, but on the other hand I’m wondering if he’s been targeted by right-wing trolls like Gunn was.
I really feel like Disney needs to stop doing this though. Like I get it, they have the right to fire anyone but I really think they should at least talk to these people beforehand or something. Because a lot of the people who work under them are extremely vocal about their opinions. I am really surprised Sarah Silverman hasn’t been fired yet.
I have my issues with Wendig (idk very much about Gunn other than the story of his firing) but I also don’t like this recent trend of Disney evidently wanting everyone who works with them to be completely inoffensive and milquetoast…? Writers tend to be a passionate and political bunch, and if you’re going to be all nicey-nice and “can we all get along” about the current political climate then I don’t even want to know you, much less read your stuff. Silence in the face of the utter shit that’s going down today is a political stance of itself, a statement of compliance and agreement. We need more than ever for creators to speak up, and it’s frightening that big corporations are muzzling them and effectively silencing prominent voices of opposition to the rise of fascism.
And that’s the problem.
I haven’t read any of Chuck’s stuff but even with that being sad, firing people because they’re being political and not perfect human beings is a terrible way to run a business. Disney is trying so hard to hold onto their family-friendly image yet they can’t really do that since they just bought Fox. They now own Family Guy and Deadpool, two franchises which are not family friendly. Like this is going to make it so great writers won’t want to work with them and it could be a problem down the road.
Wendig was fired for telling kavanaugh supporters to get fucked for supporting a fucking rapist.
Do I need to hold my nose and buy his books because right now I kinda love him.

And the real issue here is that Disney is increasingly becoming an unchecked monopoly. It would be less shitty if it were just one of many media companies and creators have plenty of outlets to turn to, but Disney is turning into THE media company and being blacklisted from Disney also means you’re being locked out of a whole lot of opportunities.
So far there are alternatives–Gunn is evidently doing a DC movie, which, like, talk about going to the competition lol–but with how big Disney is getting and how lax monopoly regulation has been, Disney’s policies could have a real chilling effect on people who create for a living.
