I have been as clear as humanly possible. Both pieces of content have been on my blog for over a year; the video even got some (positive) asks. When I realized people did not know about this content after I alluded to it, I fully discussed the issue and answered questions about my shipping preference multiple times precisely because I want people to make their own informed decisions about whether to keep following/interacting or not.
What I can’t stand is the insinuation that I’ve been lying to or misleading people. I have said from literally my first anti-reylo post (link) that I don’t judge people for what they ship, only for how they go about it. My issue is that reylos go about it horribly. That post has 462 notes, hardly something that slipped under the radar unnoticed. If people took my criticism of shippers’ bad behavior as saying that depiction is automatically endorsement and no one should ship it ever, nor would I ever create ship-related content ever–well, that speaks more to the simplistic nature of fandom rhetoric than anything I actually said. Once I realized there was a misunderstanding I worked to correct it and to inform everyone, as seen above.
It would have been the easiest thing in the world to quietly delete a post that was sitting there with 4 notes and to pretend that I do adhere to the party line that shipping equals morality. That would have been misleading. People are angry with me not because I’ve deceived them but because I have been honest.
