It’s kind of hilarious how Han won’t shut up about that one crazy weekend he had
What weekend?
Look I am fully on board wih the aims of the Escape the Corset (탈코) movement in Korea. Women don’t need to cater to the male gaze and they shouldn’t be pressured to use all their time and energy to look pretty. It’s a very necessary movement and I hope it keeps up.
That said, there’s also a subset in the movement who are not just escaping the corset themselves but actively shaming women who do wear makeup and saying they’re not true feminists, their minds are enslaved and so on. Yes, anyone can be jerks about a movement and take it way too far, but there’s a clear trans-exclusionary undercurrent to this rhetoric against the reality where trans women are unable to be accepted as women at all unless they perform femininity to degrees far beyond cis women.
To be clear, trans women should not experience these pressures to be hyperfeminine, any more than cis women, and easing the ridiculous beauty pressure is good for all women. This isn’t about discrediting EtC or dismissing those who adhere to it as shrill bullies. It is not okay to invalidate the very real problems that prompted EtC by saying “I wear makeup because it makes me happy!” or such shit. Shut up. Not about you.
At the same time we can recognize that the trans-exclusionary part of the movement is using it to paint trans women as enemies of feminism and male oppressors, when makeup may be necessary for them in a way it is not for cis women.
The EtC movement is admirable and necessary. At the same time, please be on the lookout for ways activism can be co-opted to isolate and demonize some of our most vulnerable sisters. Please don’t forget trans women in your activism.
“korean feminism centers the rights, safety, comfort and life experience of females, why can’t these white korean feminists learn how important it is to protect feminine males by yielding to social constructs that harm them and watering down their rhetoric to make it more palatable to said males, how dare they recognize females as the social class that their activism serves, what is their fuckin problem”
You know, even aside from your ignorant generic TERF talking points and deliberate strawmanning, I love how you’re trying to tell me, a Korean feminist, that TERFs represent Korean feminism. Your blog is also full of terrifyingly violent transmisogyny and I am now blocking without further ado, bye.

Let It Snow – a Damerose winter romance.
When we finally kiss good-night
How I’ll hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I’ll be warmAnd the fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we’re still good-bye-ing
But as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, and snow
Need some proof, my dude. Aaron has issues but this seems like reylo propaganda like when they accused a black finnrey fan of threatening Asian fans and it turned out they were the ones sending her violent pornography and making rape threats. There’s like two black fans left that aren’t reylos. Don’t do reylos jobs for them.
I’m not making this up, and have no reason to, and I hate reylos as much as the next person, but the blogger theautisticjedi admits to everything and she’s not a Reylo. She’s not even 18 and she was younger than she is now when all this was happening.
Beyond that, he’s been told before to chill, take a breather, and stop being so aggressive and antagonistic with people. I know he’s got issues and I really hope he gets help, but I wouldn’t make this up. I know there is barley any black fans left, I’m one of them, but when a blogger reaches out to me telling me that another blogger is creeping on a minor, and then I talk to the blogger and find out its true, then I gotta say something.
It sucks, it really does. As a black fan, I don’t want to be the one to do this and probably I’ll lose some points in a lot of people’s books and get black listed here and there, but I’m not here to be popular, I’m here to speak my mind. I wouldn’t be saying this if it wasn’t true and I don’t want to be the one saying this at all. I sat on this for the last 2 days because I didn’t know how to word it and…I really just didn’t want to be the person who said this.
It’s true. I saw the screenshots too, and they were horrifying. I’m the one who approached @themandalorianwolf about ibb’s behavior after @theautisticjedi spoke to me. I understand anon’s point, false accusations against Black people are rampant both irl and online, and it’s a sensitive issue which was why I wanted a Black blogger to take the lead. It was very hard for Wolf yet he stepped up like nobody’s business, and he will always have my admiration for that.
Hey, so just a warning, insaneblackboy, who’s gone from Tumblr as of the time I’m writing this, was up to some…really not cool things. Harassment, grooming of an underage blogger, threats. I don’t like to be the one to talk about this, and black fans in the SW fandom have it bad enough, but I don’t want anyone getting hurt or scarred over this kind of stuff. As much as I shit on Tumblr, and will continue to, it’s supposed to be a safe place for everyone.
So listen, if you’re an older blogger and you have kids on following you on your Tumblr, please, take care of them and try to keep them safe from an online world that undoubtedly will tell and show them things it shouldn’t, and most importantly, just be a friend to them.
I’m glad he’s taking a breather, and I really hope he works on his issues and comes to understand that what he did was wrong. Let’s try and make fandom safe for everyone, especially kids. Let’s speak out when something’s up, and listen when people come forward. Thank you so much @themandalorianwolf for taking lead on this.

in really dark times, it’s often faith that sustains people. so, if we’re going to take the force out of this movie, there would have to be this question of whether anyone is ever going to believe in it again, and whether it mattered at all. …for people who don’t have physical evidence of magic or their religion in the universe, you find it in other people and in what you’re willing to do for them and what they’re willing to do for you.—chris weitz
