I’m pretty sure he knows that and I’m sure he’s not actually trying to be disgraced and possibly go to jail. He’s also way too self-absorbed to want to be a martyr.
I mean on the one hand, yeah, drawn and written child porn doesn’t demand the sexual abuse of actual children the way video and photographic child porn does. On the other I’m still iffy on the possible effects of treating children, even in fantasy, as acceptable objects of desire. It’s not a direct one-on-one correlation, nor is pornographic material the only thing to blame for our shitty sexually exploitative society, but I worry about saturation and normalization.
Bruh religious or not there’s no debating that Dreamworks Prince of Egypt (1998) is a masterpiece and one of the most visually stunning works of animation of all time. The parallels between Yocheved and Miriam singing the River Lullaby as a tear runs down their cheek and the wind blows their hair in front of their face? Incredible. The use of hieroglyphics to show how Moses learned that his father ordered the Hebrew babies slaughtered??Ingenious. The duet between Moses and Ramses where the choir chants in the background while you watch the plagues destroy Egypt and Moses is begging Ramses to let his people go and Ramses refuses and it shows them facing each other and then side by side and then Ramses walking away while Moses stands firmly??? Intense. When Moses parts the sea and the Hebrews are walking between the water and lightning strikes in the background, illuminating the silhouette of a giant shark swimming in the wall of water???? Iconic. The entire movie is just absolutely breathtaking and that’s just tea
this is my absolute favourite theory for a quantity of reasons, but especially because it would be the most wonderful Cinderella story, and Finn being a prince would be a huge thing, and it’d just be so cool

A detail that I can fix my mind on, however: of all the outcomes of Tonkee’s stunt, gaining a suitor was dead last on my list of possibilities. So let me get this straight, Hjarka took a look at Tonkee losing her arm and nearly dying (and, lbr, I totally understand Ykka on this and Tonkee is one of my favorite characters) by acting on a dangerous obsession beyond all reason, and decided this woman was a keeper? Run, Tonkee. She’s even crazier than you are.
Well there are worse uses for a reattached bum hand than sticking it in the crazy. Go at it, you two, take each other out of the dating pool.

Speaking of crazy, Breeders are actually selecting for orogeny in offspring now? That didn’t take long. Just one comm where orogeny was normalized within the past generation, and already Breeders–and no doubt others–are seeing it as a valuable trait.

Aaand it didn’t take long for that to fall apart. Just press on the fault line and crack. I don’t think Essun is being entirely fair, though. The stills in Meov didn’t turn on their orogene comm members, but trauma doesn’t speak the language of fairness and she doesn’t have to be fair to be right.
Also a rather belated reaction but of all the people I expected to get a redemption arc Schaffa was dead last. It’s more of a Revan situation, I guess, in that much of who he used to be was cut away by brain damage.
Because this is Broken Earth, I fully expect his newfound humanity to have even worse results than his former callousness. Arguably that’s already started with letting Nassun live and what she did to Eitz and the Antarctic Fulcrum. That girl’s shaping up to be quite the mass murderer like her mom.
