As long as I’m bashing children’s shows, in addition to my astonishment that the Boss Baby TV show got a second season I’m almost impressed that the second season somehow manages to be worse than the first. There’s an entire episode dedicated to BB running around naked, with predictable potty jokes and Tim being freaked out at the sight of his baby brother’s bare tush. I s2g this show will reveal the nadir of visual media if it somehow picks up a third season.

I am in no position whatsoever to speculate on the reasons one of my mutuals might or might not have blocked another blogger, a blogger who came to me on anon at that. I don’t care what anyone’s reasons for blocking someone else–including me–is, that is their prerogative and if you think they were unreasonable for it, well, then they weren’t much of a loss in the first place were they? I can understand being hurt if you were previously close to or admired the person who blocked you, but that’s the nature of online relationships and you’ll have to find some way to move on. At any rate I cannot help you in any way, except perhaps by providing my usual quality content to ease your pain.
I think antisemitism works pretty differently from racism. Jewish people in the West are perceived to be white (and are, in many cases? It’s a fine distinction that I’m not always up on), so representation for them often isn’t perceived to be the same kind of diversity win, one that even conservatives grudgingly acknowledge, that it is for more visible minorities. It’s also disturbingly popular on the left to bash on Jewish people and the issues they face, so a lot of the times Jewish people don’t get the usual allies that efforts toward representation do, while their complaints can be dismissed as the whining of a privileged white or white-adjacent group (with Jewish people of color neatly erased in the process.)
Black people being a more visible case of representation in media isn’t privilege, of course, but rather seems to be a symptom of hypervisibility. It seems to me–and this is from a strictly outsider standpoint, of course–that antisemitism works almost the opposite way, by erasure and forced assimilation. The different struggles each group has with representation appear to be outgrowths of the different ways violence and hatred against their identities are expressed.

Listen Anon I’m European and while it’s not in my About I’ve always been vocal about living in Europe. I have no clue about some random political commentator in the US, I have my hands full with those we have over here and mostly I focus on those in my own country even then.
And yes, this anon is a good example of exactly why I don’t allow anons anymore. As always, some Reylow went where even Hollywood execs didn’t and just completely goywashed Marty as well as Ruth. At least in the movie they cast Armie Hammer who is part Jewish, though acceptably goyische in looks much like Natalie who was originally slated to play Ruth. (I wish it had at least been Natalie, because even aside from being Jewish she can act and wouldn’t have had Felicity’s fake as hell American accent that’s painful to listen to even at trailer length. Why is Felicity cast for anything at all? Am I just spoiled by actors like John and Loan who do multiple accents beautifully?)

@leg-grestrade Whoa, no need to bite @faithfire’s head off! There are a lot of different ways to ship characters, including crackshipping and darkshipping. Much as I dislike mainstream shippers’ abuse apologism and war crimes apologism, their obnoxious brand of canonshipping isn’t the only type possible. I understand you’re angry at the way you and your friends have been treated by reylow shippers, but the way to deal with it is not to jump at people whose meaning you may not be clear about.
