Plenty of human representation in the ST but a lot of alien erasure. Not one alien species from the other trilogies except previously established characters like Chewie, Ackbar, and Nien Nunb. Only knockoffs like those dumb one-mouthed Ithorians. Obviously human representation is more important but it bugs me that TLJ did nothing to fix this and just made all the Canto Bight aliens white, non-legacy species.
There are white aliens? *scratches head* But yeah, it’s one of the many ways TLJ failed to enrich and continue the lore.
So since it is looking likely that 9 will revisit Jakku what do you think of the idea that Finn is actually originally from Jakku? Its something I’ve had in the back of my mind for a while now. He did have his awakening on that planet.

Just to add: I’ve seen strikethough brought up on tumblr in the recent AO3 discourse & wow theres some revisionist history going on there from some people -framing it like adult slash work was primarily targeted when the majority of fanwork that was hit was underage porn in the HP fandom – & not mentioning the massive debates that went on at the time about whether adults should produce work like that.
Yeah, we need more older fans to speak up against the good-old-days, us-against-the-censors revisionists. I mean strikethrough was far from free of problems, such as the deletion of rape survivor groups and age-restricted adult fic communities, but it’s disingenuous to sanitize the issue and pretend the underage porn didn’t exist.
