Most of the verified Twitter accounts I saw (not counting news sites, individuals only) that responded to the video were people of color and they were deeply concerned. Actually the only white people I saw commenting were unverified users. And I could find ANYTHING positive anyone had to say about it no matter how much I Googled. It seems weird that it’s not on PP’s page, that no leftists are discussing it even in passing. I don’t know which side to be suspicious of in that respect to be honest.

And the video, when I followed the link from one of the critical articles (link), is not on the PP channel but rather one called the Agenda Project. Maybe it’s a supportive video made by a third party, idk.

Ok so what happens is the cops show up, tell him multiple times to put his gun down, he does, and then another officer comes charging in, and shouts at him to get on the ground AS HE FIRES ON HIM. The other cops are yelling that he’s a security guard (but they told him to put down his gun???) but it’s too late, the other officer has already shot him multiple times. The officer says his only identifying mark as a bouncer being his hat which read SECURITY. As it turns out, that is false.

All that melanin on an unarmed man was an immediate threat to lives, I guess.

Don’t security guards wear uniforms? The cops should be able to tell who’s the aggressor and who’s security. It’s not like arming a schoolteacher, who has no gun training and no uniform. It’s literally his job to shoot the bad guys first. I occasionally give cops the benefit of the doubt but this is definitely NOT one of those times.

In this case the cop was the threat to public safety and innocent lives, pure and simple. Then again cops often are.

Actually, there is no human population in my WIP. The villages are all dragon populated. So I’d imagine detritus birds wouldn’t just fly into their mouths– they’d be domesticated pets. The brigade in charge of putting out rogue fires is also in charge of starting controlled ones. Dragon lovers uproot unbudded dragonflowers so they can give flame to them themselves as a symbol of their love. (My fire-impaired protagonist dies inside every time he sees one of those because he can’t do that.)

I guess calling a lover a “flame” would be fraught with extra meaning in this world. 🙂 To have no fire in a world of dragons! That sounds hard.

Nah fuck Empress. This is the same dirtbag who led anon hate campaigns against black fans who got pictures of hanged black men in their inboxes. This is the same asshole who claimed black fans were being racist against Rose Tico. This is the same garbage can who laughed when a young black anti was sent explicit violent porn. So nah. JJ is missing out if IX doesn’t have a Stormtrooper rebellion. If JJ could combine elements of Finn trying to free the troopers and also using an SW version of an Underground Railroad, as well as emphasizing Finn’s foil dynamics with Kylo, his arc could be the bloody best.

I think it’s become all but imperative for anything like a realistic Resistance victory after Johnson killed off all but a dozen of the Resistance in TLJ. The Resistance is toast if they can’t shave off the FO’s numerical advantage. It would give Finn a meaningful plot that isn’t just busywork, would bring his and Kylo’s enmity to a head (you thought Kylo hated Finn in TFA? Wait until Finn dissolves his little wannabe Empire from under his feet), would bring the series full circle from the enslavement of the Clones, would give the culturally iconic imagery of the Stormtroopers a whole new and positive meaning, making for something actually subversive and new, AND would be excellent fodder for post-IX shows and comics. Honestly it would be a giant missed opportunity on so many levels if they passed on a Trooper uprising.

I hardly know who I despise more: the racist fans who refuse to engage in any self-awareness whatsoever and relentlessly bully people who try to bring attention to fandom racism, or the shitty doxxer (and her supporters) who pouts and whines because she isn’t given the forgiveness and acceptance she feels entitled to. A plague o’ both their houses.
