Edward even called Jacob a child and spent more time acting like a dad to Bella than a boyfriend (several times he get mad at Bella bc he wanted her to go to sleep or be like “why you want to see that boy Jacob, hm? He’s dangerous!”)

AU where Finn is Ender Wiggin and Rey is Bean. Except it doesn’t really work for a romantic Finnrey parallel because Bean’s love interest is Petra and Ender’s is a Portuguese widow who lives thousands of years after he’s born (for those who haven’t read the book, space travel and relativistic speeds are in play, so there’s no age gap.) But still, Ender was trained in a simulator as a child soldier, and Bean grew up alone fighting to survive against gangs and scavengers. That’s Finn and Rey.

Sounds like an intriguing AU! I mean a well-developed friendship fic between Finn and Rey would be awesome, too.
