She feels she needs to stick by him because of the PTSD even though she has fallen for “Ben” while Finn was at war. The author said she was working through issues of her father who was a soldier with PTSD who returned from Afghanistan and abused her mother. How is this different from your situation?

Are you seriously comparing a fic that depicts Finn as an abuser to a fic that depicts BS as an abuser? What you’re describing is pretty much the situation with the reylow batb abo AU (cursed!) that put Finn in Gaston’s role. For that matter it’s also like their metas and videos that say Poe is Gaston: shifting BS’s violence against Rey onto Finn and Poe for reasons that have nothing to do with canon and everything to do with BS woobification and implicit racism.
