I would buy this book in a heartbeat. 

Man, if that was written with sensitivity, I’d be totally down. This is a WAY more interesting ‘alternate timeline’ than ‘What if Cap was Hydra?’

I’ve been feeling like shit all day but this incredible artwork has given me a reason to smile.

I, at one point, had designed a revolutionary war era Captain America where the winter soldier was part of one of the Iroquois Confederacy tribes and the metal arm was covered in traditional paint.

A woman in a wedding dress, Rey, lies wounded in a chapel in El Paso, Texas, having been attacked by the Deadly Knights of Ren Assassin Squad. She tells their leader, Kylo Ren, that she is pregnant with her fiance’s baby. He shoots her in the head. 

No one leaves the Knights of Ren alive.

Finn had been running late to his own wedding. A mistake that saves his life when Kylo Ren and his band of killers fill the church with bullets and leave after murdering the Bride. The unsuspecting Groom bursts into the chapel to find everyone in attendance dead…except for his heavily pregnant wife to-be, Rey. Reeling from the death of their unborn baby and facing the knowledge that his wife will possibly never wake up from her coma, Finn joins forces with Rey’s old flame and former partner in crime, Rose Tico, to kill Ben Solo.

My Star Wars Kill Ben AU headcanons:

  • Rey was a foster kid until her cousin Ben found her and took her in. He raised her to become a member of his Knights of Ren. The Knights are a group of assassins who get the job done quick and clean.
  • Rey adopts the title Lady Ren and grows into her skills. She begins to have second thoughts about living the rest of her life killing people for money.
  • Rose Tico ( The Bloody Rose ) was one of Ren’s top assassins and Rey’s girlfriend. Unfortunately, their relationship ended when Rose refused a mission to kill an entire family and went into hiding. Rose’s disappearance is what triggers Rey to fake her death and leave the group forever. 
  • Finn Storm is the humble owner of a popular flower shop in Texas. He is a former member of the infamous First Order Mafia. The group is run by it’s only female leader, Phasma.
  • Like Rey, Finn had been raised by his adopted mother Phasma and molded into a killer…only to defect after his best friend Slip got killed, but not before freeing Detective Poe Dameron who’d been looking to expose the First Order. 
  • Finn is done with that life and ran far away until he finally settled down in Texas and opened a little flower shop. 
  • He and Rey cross paths when he helps her fight off a group of men accosting her. Rey has been keeping a low profile and avoiding people, but loneliness and fascination draws her to the handsome man who helped her.
  • Finn ends up asking the pretty woman out for breakfast. Rey accepts.
  • It takes a while, but the two grow to trust each other and friendship turns into love. Rey has never felt like this towards anyone except Rose…and Finn has never been in love before. They become a couple and move in together.
  • Months later, Rey finds out that she’s pregnant and Finn is so ecstatic that he asks her to marry him. Rey accepts. 
  • It doesn’t take long for someone to tip of Rey’s location to Kylo Ren. He is furious and gathers up his Knights to pay his cousin a visit.
  • It’s the day of the wedding. Rey is waiting at the church and Finn is forced to buy a new tux after the dry cleaners misplace his first one. He is running late. The Knights kill everyone in the chapel and Kylo Ren shoots Rey in the head.
  • Finn arrives to a massacre and his wife to-be lying in a pool of her own blood.
  • It takes several officers to pry a sobbing Finn from her body.
  • Rose hears about the Wedding Massacre on the television. The newswoman says that the police are still searching for the suspects, but deep down Rose knows that there’s only one group who could pull off such a feat…and that Rey was most likely their target.
  • Finn is inconsolable. Doctors tell him that his unborn daughter is dead and that Rey is in a coma…that she’ll most likely never wake up. He sleeps by her bedside every day, holding her hand and tearfully apologizing for being too late to save her. 
  • On the second month, he wakes up to the face of an unfamiliar woman of Asian descent staring down at him. “Your name’s Finn, right?” She holds out a hand to shake. “My name is Rose Tico. Rey is my ex-girlfriend…we’ve got a lot to talk about.” 
  • Finn had always known that Rey used to work for a group of unsavory people…but an assassin? He’s shocked speechless as Rose fills him in on his wife’s past life. 
  • Finn gets over to shock to demand that Rose help him kill the son of a bitch who did this. “I was raised by the First Order mob to kill and I left that life behind,” he says. “…But I’m willing to put my skills to use if that means getting back at the son of a bitch who destroyed my family.” 
  • Shit goes down and bodies drop. Finn and Rose cut a bloody swathe through the Knights of Ren, killing one after the other. Finn is unaware that his daughter, Luka, is alive and being raised by Kylo Ren.
  • During the course of their journey, Finn and Rose become close. Rose still loves Rey, but she loves Finn. She is conflicted about loving two people and keeps her feelings to herself.
  • Finn is slowly beginning to realize that he loves both women equally and even though he never fully tied the knot with Rey, she is still his fiance and he loves her. Like Rose, Finn keeps his true feelings to himself. 
  • The two have become some absorbed in their quest for revenge that they have no idea that Rey woke up from her coma and escaped the hospital.
  • A recovered Rey tracks Finn and Rose down. She joins them in the middle of fighting the Crazy 88.
  • After the battle, the three of them are reunited and share a kiss. 
  • Rose, Rey, and Finn make their way to Ben Solo’s home. After a short banter with an unrepentant Kylo Ren, Finn is greeted with the face of his daughter who he thought had died.
  • It’s a long and bloody fight but the three manage to kill Kylo Ren and burn his house to the ground.
  • Revenge fulfilled the couple take little Luka home with them. With Poe as their best man, Finn, Rose and Rey get married and live happily ever after.

1. Mai was nine the first time she realized she was in love with her best friend. It was only a handful of months since Azula had started school, met them, and claimed them for her own. Mai remembers it distinctly, because she was sitting under a tree in the palace garden, watching Ty Lee and Azula tumbling. She remembers the giddy anxiety that had bubbled up inside her as Ty Lee had leapt into the air, and flipped and somersaulted turning in the air like a wheel on a string, until she landed perfectly, arms raised in triumph. And she remembers the anxious outrage she had felt as Azula knocked Ty Lee to the ground.

2. In some ways, Mai’s almost glad Azula noticed, as unbelievably stupid as that is. Azula noticed and she couldn’t stand it. Jealousy isn’t the right word for it, but Mai doesn’t know if there is a word for it. It’s not that Azula wanted Mai to be in love with her, it’s just that she couldn’t stand that Mai or Ty Lee felt or thought anything about each other that didn’t come from Azula or under Azula’s control. It was all so confusing, such a jumble of longing, fear, and pain, her strange feelings a new vulnerability for Azula to exploit, a way for her to humiliate Mai and Ty Lee both. Azula delighted in getting Ty Lee to blame Mai for their mutual humiliation, or in making Ty Lee join her in making fun of and laughing at Mai. And making Mai make fun of and laugh at Ty Lee. Maybe if either of them had had the freedom to, they would have run aeay, avoided each other, and Mai could have blotted out her feelings in peace, and it all would have been forgotten under a veil of unpleasent history. But Azula didn’t allow that either, and Azula’s attacks meant at least Ty Lee always knew how she felt.

3. Ty Lee was thirteen the first time she had to make herself look away as Mai gets dressed, her lithe pale flesh disappearing behind silk layers of deep red and inky black. She remembers that when she realized, she couldn’t even breathe for a moment, mortified and afraid. She’s the first one who first realized this was not a normal way to feel about her best friend, that this was forbidden, even illegal. And she knew Azula knew, which meant Azula had one more hold over them, and there was one more reason they would never be free.

4. Ty Lee is the one she met first. They were friends first, before Azula started school. There were time that this was the only thing Mai had to cling to, during those dark school years, the knowledge that they had been friends before Azula, that Azula was not the only thing that tied them together, and underneath Azula’s influence, there was a real friendship there.  And when they meet up again, when Azula drags them together again to hunt her brother and the Avatar, when Ty Lee all but pretends she doesn’t exist, slamming down every wall of distant bubbly pleasantness she has ever possessed, Mai clings to this again.  It’s not until she finally turns against Azula, to protect a little boy who reminds her so much of her own brother, and waits knife in hand for Azula to strike her head, it’s not until Ty Lee sends Azula tumbling down to the ground, that she has any idea what Ty Lee feels for her.

5. Afterwards, everything has already fallen apart.  Every wall, every safeguard either of them ever had just to keep the sun rising and setting and the world spinning, to keep Azula happy and the noose from their necks, is suddenly worthless and unnecessary.  There is nothing to keep them apart now. 
No one cares about what two women who will spend the rest of their lives in prison do.

They are locked away together, and they have all the time in the world, if they can just figure out what to do with it.

Random AUs 2/? — Finn and Rey are a paranormal investigation team that’s been hired to look into strange disturbances at landlady Leia Organa’s apartment complex.  The residents are convinced Leia’s son Ben—long-missing and presumed dead—is the ghost behind a series of unexplained violent attacks and threatening messages.  What Finn and Rey find is far worse than anything they could have imagined.
