ngl the kylo fandom is probably like. the worst villain fandom ever. like other villain fandoms can be obnoxious in a way like “this villain is so cool, so badass, blah blah blah”(darth vader) and then there’s the people that really want to fuck said villain (maul) and then there’s the fandom that attempts to excuse a villain (loki), and the kylo fandom is like the worst possible combination of all of that.
like theyre convinced that kylo is 100x more powerful than he is, theyre so obsessed with fucking adam driver its just really uncomfortable (especially when they project that onto rey/daisy), and they genuinely not only excuse kylo but they find a way to make it that everything he’s done is either right or not his fault, to a point where they argue he’s the real hero of the story. they literally just. made up a personality and backstory for him and are utterly CONVINCED that it’s completely canon. they think that every single thing in Star Wars all ties to kylo ren, that the entire universe revolves around him. its not even confined to sw either, kylo stans (specifically reylos but tbh there’s hardly a differentiation) have invaded tags for stuff like the phantom of the opera, beauty and the beast, pride and prejudice, etc.

When you think about it, Damerey is a nice neutral ship. It is
interracial, they are both good guys, and it can still be LGBT because I
personally don’t think Rey or Poe are straight. Damerey happening in
canon doesn’t mean people can’t or won’t ship Finnrey or Finnpoe. It
just means that will be what the canon is, like Hanleia and Anidala.
People still ship Hanluke and Obidala. I guess I just wish we who hate
Reylo could join together without all this backbiting and fighting (end)
You have a right to your canon predictions, obviously. If you read my ask you’ll see that my issue is with the people saying you HAVE to support canon Damerey or you’re racist, that it’s the only way to stop Reylo etc. (Like any amount of fan shipping will decide what becomes canon lmao) If that’s not you then it’s not you.
Nobody said Damerey is like Reylo, I’m saying a lot of the shippers reach as hard as Reylos do. And those who support canon Damerey are as fond of disregarding and denigrating Finn and Rey’s connection as Reylos are.

Oh, my god. I tried to work with skip once upon a time. They’re a disingenuous shitsack who is not worth anyone’s time–they waste your time and energy demanding receipts, and once you give them what they requested they’ll deny everything and call it nitpicking. And THEN they come crying to you asking for help with bad anti behavior, at which point I told them to take a hike and said exactly what I thought of them. Haven’t heard from them since, thank goodness.
I mean try if it makes you feel better, but my advice is don’t bother with skip. They’re one of the worst reylos, using a reasonable facade to lure you in, waste your time, gaslight you, then try to use you as a one-way emotional and social mule. I have better thoughts about thesovereignshitpress than skip, which is saying something.
I know there are many Star Wars ships and everyone defends their fav ship until it officially sinks. All I ask you all is to read this glorious work and admire that fact it has great writing and works well to portray the characters to fit the story. It’s perfectly fine to engage in respectful debate with reylos. It’s not fine to harass them, but they harass us all the time and I don’t think either of us are gonna stop anytime soon, so idrk about that. But preying on a thirteen-year-old girl for shipping it? That’s fucked up.
She’s thirteen. Thirteen year old girls are immature. And that’s not a criticism. It’s fine. It’s completely normal development-wise. My point is, this girl can’t handle harassment like an older, more experienced user could. I’m sure most of you, both reylos and antis, feel hurt when you get harassed, even if you won’t admit it. Imagine it from her perspective. I’m sure she’s found out by now, and she must be incredibly hurt/humiliated.
I know I’ve been harsh and blunt with reylos, but I’m not the type that harasses and targets specific users, and I frown upon anon hate mail. I hate when antis do that. I hate when reylos do it too. It’s bad when you do it to anyone, but to a child? A child who presumably doesn’t think too in-depth about these things, and wants to simply enjoy something that she ships? Leave her alone.
Antis can certainly protest against reylos, and as much as I hate to admit it, reylos can protest against antis. But specific targeting and harassment of minors needs to end. I’m barely older than this girl, so I can imagine it from her perspective all too easily. Everything is so real and vivid at that age. This is the kind of thing that would make any thirteen y. o. cry herself to sleep. Just stop for a moment and think about that.
And to top it all off, this was unprovoked. This girl had done nothing but type her interests on her blog page, and some antis felt the need to publicly call her out on it. That makes you seem like a complete and utter prick, because, well, you are a prick.
If you do want to call out reylos or antis (again, not something I condone at all), please, for the love of god, don’t target vulnerable minors who’ve done nothing wrong.
As much as the reylo tags terrify me (back when I first got tumblr, I ventured in there and was basically told to kill myself for naively crosstagging, but I digress), I feel obligated to show the reylos that not all of us condone this behavior, contrary to what many of them seem to believe. It needs to end.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If your so-called social justice activism consists of targeting and harassing people who have been staying in their lane, then you’re just an asshole and a bully. That goes a hundredfold if you’re targeting a child. I’m as wigged out by gross Reylo arguments and racism as anyone and will always push back. But harassing someone, much less a child, over simply enjoying a ship? GTFO.
