every act of ‘violence’ that Finn commits is in self-defence. he is never the aggressor. Finn never shoots first, Finn is defined by the moment he chose not to be someone else’s blaster or cannon fodder.

i thought this was about finn wolfhard and i was so confused

thank you for informing me, with this unnecessary addition that derailed my post about a Black character breaking the mold of hyper masculine behavior, that this has now reached the it/stranger things blogs. I hope you can tell that that ‘thank you’ is completely and utterly sardonic.

@reddietrashmouth the person you reblogged this from tagged it as star wars and finn…. how were you confused?

Why hello wilfully ignorant fandom microaggression erasing Black characters on their own posts!

Omg that racist af op clearly doesn’t know anything about Black Panther (except whatever racist misinformation they must’ve gleaned from fellow basement-dwelling racists), I’ve watched Black Panther myself too and reading every sentence that racist fuck wrote, I went “no it’s not. no he doesn’t. no… no…” like they’re so wrong, it’s ridiculous! (I’m from a multi-ethnic SE Asian country btw and op reminds me of white tourists who mistake us for 1 ‘asian’ race just cuz none of us are white 🤬)

It was so clear he was going off uninformed preconceptions without even a glance at the background material, much less having seen the movie, it was embarrassing to see. And obviously you can’t be multiethnic without white people 😂 ignorant fuck doesn’t even know the difference between race and ethnicity.

Also, the very term “ethnostate” is one coined and used by white nationalists. The fact that the op a) uses that term and b) applies it to an African country where the context is entirely different tells you all you need to know about him. I would block adastraperabsurdia, the op of this post, to avoid seeing his nonsense in the bp and blm tags and whatever other tag he decides to go into next to spout his foolishness.

Quite funny though. Black Panther as a character is as right wing as it gets. A guy who lives as a warrior king in a hereditary monarchy, in a shut off environment that refuses to connect with the outside world, puts his people and country above everyone and everything else, doesn’t share his natural resources unless it’s for gain, keeps the country’s generations-old traditions and keeps his country homogeneous, restricts immigration, while living with extreme luxury as the surrounding countries live in extreme poverty. Funny enough, when deciding to make a fictional character living in a very wealthy fictional environment where his people are happy, prosperous and independent, they went with a hard right-wing nationalist, living in an anti-globalist, anti-multiculturalist society. If liberals were halfway intelligent enough to catch this, they’d probably get their minds blown, since they won’t know whether to back him because he’s black, or oppose him with the worry of being called racist, because he’s a prime example of everything they hate. Switch the races, and they’d catch that in an instant.

Hey. Do you know shit about the background or the story?

Your post says you don’t.

So maybe shut up because all you’re doing is making yourself look foolish.

You do realize it’s literally a black ethnostate. Shouldn’t you be against that. Or is an monarchical isolationist ethnostate only okay if you’re not white.

Oh hey everyone, African people are all one ethnicity now! It’s a miracle! 😂

Like, even if you didn’t notice from the trailer alone that Wakanda is a diverse multiethnic state? Even aside from that, you clearly haven’t seen the movie and don’t know what you’re talking about. Just stop. You’re giving me secondhand embarrassment.

suggestion

when Black Panther comes out, we let everyone enjoy it regardless of their race, because while this is definitely a huge step forwards in POC representation, people who enjoy the character and who aren’t black deserve to be excited about this movie too !

Here’s a better suggestion: if Black fans call others out on their racism over this movie, don’t whine about not being allowed to enjoy it. If the only way nonblack fans can enjoy this movie is by being racist about it, then no, they DON’T deserve to enjoy it. Not without being dragged to hell, anyway.

Signed,

A nonblack fan who was just squeeing excitedly about this masterpiece with Black fans and does not appreciate the implication that they are mean, racially-motivated gatekeepers.

There are shippers in the GoT fandom who defend all of the incest in the show. Like Jon/Daenerys and the Lannister twins. They also ship the hell out of non-canon incest ships like Jon/Sansa. If the fandoms merge, it will be so much worse than the R*ylo bullshit we already see. I won’t be there to support it. Fuck KK for ruining something that has been so loved for so long by people all over the world.

My interest in the books dropped off circa the fourth novel, but GRRM at least made it clear that the incest between Jaime and Cersei was narcissistic and destructive, and the sexual abuse of Danny by her late unmourned brother was exactly that, abuse. (But then her Mongol Barbarian stereotype husband raped her repeatedly and she holds him up as a paragon of manhood, and burned a woman alive after said woman justifiable killed him, so uh… fuck that entire series, basically.) And fans, particularly of the TV show, run with that to incest now being the coolest thing in the world. Just ugh, no.

You know what would be an amusing fandom project:

Making a mad libs form for Loki, Kylo Ren, and Grant Ward defense posts.

They all tend to read EXACTLY the same.  So why not have some fun with that.  😛

[Villain] suffered extreme trauma due to [Childhood Speculation Unsupported by Canon], and in the end [Hero they have personally harmed] will be shown to be the truly evil one and [Villain] will live happily ever after with [Major Female Character/Favorite Slash Pairing].

Antis constantly ignore that [Villain] TOTALLY suffers from [speculation of abuse or mental illness based on offensive stereotyping]!  Antis hate actual suffers of [speculated abuse or mental illness]!

[Villain] was justified in his actions toward [hero they have personally harmed] and [many innocent people] because of [inaccurate understanding of the definitions of “legal”, “governmental sanction”, “war” and/or “espionage”].

[Hero they have personally harmed] can’t possibly feel [emotional reaction based on Villain’s direct actions against them or others] because they are at least somewhat at fault for not understanding [Villain]’s terrible position!

I found my old madlibs post.  Here’s an addition:

It’s hypocritical for someone to dislike [Villain] more than [another character who is a victim of explicit mind control, was enslaved at the time, or is an actual child.]

I’ve finally seen TLJ and while it was still kinda a shitshow, how could anyone see that and think Reylo has a chance of being canon?

I will pray for the sake of your vision and your sanity that you never come across the meta post about sexual symbolism in the throne room battle scene.

@lj-writes

I saw that meta. Post and I now understand why Daisy quit all forms of social media

It’s my understanding it’s the rabidly pro-gun people who ultimately drove her off, but incidents like racist shippers harassing her over a picture of her and John and the general fandom fuckery of the sort in that meta could not have helped, either.
