I already started animating Rey too, but I’m not sure if I can finish it before everything gets stressful, besides it’s a bit spoiler-y so I would hold it back for some time anyway.
Edit: The Rey one ended up being a fight scene, you can see it here
It’s SO FUNNY (ie ironic, ie racist) that Finn is painted as being the one and only character with infatuation issues when it’s like… exactly the opposite lmao, every character who has spent extended periods of time with Finn is helplessly enamored with him, sometimes to a fault
Rose? Toxically obsessed with him, abused him when he didn’t fit her idealized version of him she had in her head. Literally infatuated.
Rey? Begged him not to leave Takodana and then had a Force vision when she felt like he abandoned her. Wanted to LAY DOWN in the snow and DIE next to Finn at Starkiller. Infatuation? Probably not but that’s some pretty extreme attachment.
And yet these assbags are like “Finn is obsessed with Rey!!!!! HashTagReyloForever!!!!!!!!” and like uhhhh no lol Finn is one of the only characters in the main cast to show healthy levels of attachment, even though his dysfunctional unbringing could easily have ruined him for relationships
When he asked Rey to go to the Outer Rim with him, she said no and he didn’t ask again and he accepted her decision and told her to take care. When faced with either blowing up Starkiller Base OR immediately rushing to save Rey, Finn chose to help Han and Chewie shut down the shields first. When faced with the option to hold on to Rey’s tracker and run with it once he got to Canto Bight, Finn chose to give the tracker to Poe and go on the mission, risking Rey’s safety and his own. Finn loves Rey but he’s not infatuated, he respects her decisions and he knows the universe doesn’t revolve around her.
Anyways, tldr, if we’re talking about infatuation amongst the main characters of the ST, Finn is like the last one yall should be concerned about, thanks
Having looked at a number of pictures of both women, my money is on Ella Rae Smith. Cheekbones and chin looks far more like her than Erin Kellyman.
If it’s either of them that is. The same argument is ongoing in the reddit thread, with people arguing for both of them. It’s hard to tell from one grainy picture.
When that is said, watch me make “Enfy is the rebooted Mara Jade and Finn’s mom” theories for the next year and a half. Not that I believe them – and if she is Finn’s mom the actress really shouldn’t be so light skinned and no, not because of science – but lets be real, if Enfys had been played by a white woman we’d already be hip deep in “Enfys is the new Mara and Rey’s mom theories”. Heck, we’re already hip deep in “Qi’ra is Rey’s mom” theories.
Am I the only one who thinks Ella-Rae Smith looks a lot like Natalie Portman? I thought it was just that one picture but there are others where I get Portman vibes. Granted, it’s probably because they both fit into a narrow range of industry-preferred looks for actresses, but now I’m stuck headcanoning Finn as a Naberrie rather than a Skywalker, with Enfys being one of Padmé’s nieces Pooja or Ryoo. This is what Pooja looked like as a child, by the way:
Okay she’s obviously a white child, but I’m choosing to run with the hair.
John Boyega as Finnfrom Star Wars Insider: The Last Jedi
He’s still pointing the usually two-handed Stromtrooper standard rifle with one hand, proving his shoot-and-run in the battle of Takodana was no fluke and he really has an unusual level of aim, strength, and control.
For Finn I think his worst case scenario isn’t death but a ‘Winter Soldier’ situation.
That gave me chills. I also think it may have been what he was fleeing early in TFA, depending on what the “reconditioning” he was going to be subjected to looks like. I mean, per Phasma’s report I think he escaped after she told him to report to reconditioning? Dude was absolutely desperate, and given the riskiness of his plan I think he did prefer death.
FN-2187 was trained since birth to serve the First Order as a stormtrooper, but a skirmish on Jakku awakened his conscience and drove him down a different path, one that proved both heroic and dangerous. He helped Poe Dameron escape the First Order – picking up the nickname Finn in doing so – and then sought his own freedom alongside Rey and BB-8.
They are right and they should always say it
Poe and Rey are co-presidents of the Love Finn and Hate Kylo Club.
Can we all take a minute to consider what Finn says here? That he’s been getting conflicting information about how the Force works?
But so far the only time in canon we’ve seen him bring up the Force with anyone was with Han on Starkiller Base, where Han tells him “that’s not how the Force works” to Finn’s suggestion that they use it to figure out how to disable the shields. Maz talks to Rey about the Force, but never to Finn. Neither does Leia at any point. There’s only that far too brief exchange with Han Solo.
So Finn’s line to Han was not just something random he pulled out of nowhere as some fans has suggested? He had information, right or wrong, about how the Force worked from somewhere?
But where? Given the entirely mechanistic view that the First Order takes where and why would their Stormtroopers be told about the Force? From whom did Finn learn about it? Was it something he or all of the cadets were told? Was it something he overheard someone (Snoke? Kylo? the Knights of Ren?) talking about?
