Finn Appreciation Week – Day 3
Favorite Relationships: Finn & Han Solo

kylo ren is the prime example of white male villains whose awful actions are excused by white fangirls in order to faun over him because he’s “tragic” and “tortured”, instead of focusing on the black character (finn) who is actually tragic and tortured, and instead of becoming a monster, went against everything that he ws programmed to be and became a good guy
he’s also the prime example of an abusive white man who the fans would rather ship with the white female lead instead of a variety of other, less abusive potential partners, but are not accepted as valid options by them because they’re not white men

“It wasn’t until the civilians began to enter the scenario that he ran into trouble. At first they appeared only as random by standers, obstacles to be avoided. Then there were more of them, and more, and more. Men and women and children, and suddently FN-2187 could see only them and not the enemy hiding among them.” – Before The Awakening by Greg Rucka
After the disaster at Crait the Resistance is in dire straits with no fighters and no resources, up against the mastodon that is the First Order. It is Finn who through s chance encounter with newly minted Resistance operative Zay Versio finds a path. Her knowledge of the First Order’s Project Resurrection – the code word for the Stormtrooper program – gives Finn the information to fulfil his own dream and the Resistance’s need at the same time, to free the indoctrinated troops.
But convincing the Resistance’s leadership of his risky plan proves to be a challenge.
Meanwhile, inside the First Order, Finn’s former squad mate Zeroes is dealing not just with the suspicion directed at him by superiors after Finn’s defection, but his own increasing doubts about the First Order’s methods and intentions. Unable to silence the screams from Tuanul he hears in his dreams, Zeroes feels himself increasingly disagreeing with the orders he is given.
Covertly finding others who feels like he does, Zeroes slowly begins to build a group of subversive elements right under the First Orders noses.
When Finn’s attempts to reach someone inside the First Order wishing to defect and Zeroes’ endeavors to find outside connections to help him and his out succeeds, they’re both surprised to find themselves face to face once again.
Their old enmity cannot be ignored, but they both know they must put it aside to realize their mutual goal of freeing the First Order’s slave army.
Facing obstacles and dangers from both the First Order and the Resistance, their relationship is reforged in fire as they find that the other man is the one person in the galaxy they can truly rely on.

Here’s Finn as a very tired painting student because I too am a very tired painting student. He got paint on his nose but didn’t notice and nobody told him (rude).
I don’t think this really fits any of the Finn Appreciation Week themes but I wanted to submit it anyway bc it’s a drawing of Finn whom I appreciate 🙂 It’s also sort of a sequel to this from like a year ago
