im also adding a royalty aspect cause thats just how i am, hope you dont mind!
hmmm I’d probably have the soulmate aspect be with some kind of birth mark that just so happens to be hidden from viewmost of the time on both Finn and Rey (on the left hip).
Finn and Rey were childhood friends and their parents planned for them to marry from the very beginning. When they both reach adult-ish age the marriage finally happens and neither party is dissatisfied persay, but at this point they aren’t really in love or anything. Things go well though, with them sharing separate rooms and living together happily before they have to act like a happily married couple who loves each other when Rey’s more than morally questionable brother Kylo comes to visit them.
He’s finally gotten the news that Rey had married and has come with ideas of ‘freeing’ her because he likes the control he has over her as an older sibling. He goes and causes some trouble with the knights of Ren and causes a bit of an uproar.
As this is going on and Rey and Finn are trying to calm it down, they begin to notice things about the other that they never had before and begin to get feelings for each other. Finn realizes these feelings and tries to get close enough to tell Rey, but she begins to shut her self off thinking that things would go back to how they were before.
After Rey hears about Kylo trying to organised another riot, she goes off to try and stop him. Before she leaves when she’s changing into clothes more suitable for outdoor ware, Finn comes in to try and stop her. He sees the soulmate mark that he also has in the exact same place and shows her his mark. Rey is shocked but is still determined to go stop Kylo. Before she leaves, she kisses Finn and he wishes her luck.
Rey arrives at the campsite where Kylo is waiting for her and he orders for her to be contained so that she is unable to escape. She fights and tries to talk some sense into him, but is ultimately outnumbered by the knights.
Finn feels that something is off and that Rey is in danger and sends for help from Han and Leia. He goes off to Kylo’s camp and confronts him, asking where Rey is. Hearing Finn, Rey creates a plan to go help him, and sneaks past the knights and surprises Kylo. Finn and Rey fight him and Leia arrives with Han. She knocks Kylo out and they all live happily ever after except for Kylo is is imprisoned for his crimes.

After that Rebels episode, I don’t even need IX anymore to make Finnrey canon. The Force itself made it canon. Finn and Rey are soulmates, their souls’ longing to be reunited echoes through time and space, their love makes up the very fabric of the universe. I don’t care what happens next re: ships. Star Wars Rebels just confirmed what Finnrey shippers always knew: Finn and Rey didn’t just come from the same star, they are the Force itself.
Hello??
Plot twist: this is based off your reincarnation theory @lj-writes
After crashing on Naboo after escaping the First Order after another successful Stormtrooper liberation, Finn is nursed back to health by Padme’s still living family. They can’t help but think that something, just something, reminds them of the aunt they use to know. They shake the feeling though.
Finn tells them about the freedom he’s fighting for the Stormtroopers, his friends in the Resistance, and the Jedi he fell in love with that came from a desert planet. The family swears his story sounds familiar, yet also different…
Finally after a few weeks of healing, a New Republic ship shows up for Finn. A short haired brunette girl with a long Jedi Padawan braid jumps out of the ship before it lands and runs up to Finn, crushing him in a bone crushing embrace. Crying, laughing, and light jests are heard from the shorter force user, but Finn just smiles like a damn fool in love.
As the two leave Naboo, the family that cared for Finn watched them go with a warm smile on their faces. Memories of a Jedi that walked on the sky and their warrior Queen who fought for freedom flooded back to them.
Padme and Anakin had found each other once more.
They also recognized that snappy sense of fashion!
on a scale of 1 to john boyega, how much do you love finnrey?
And it’s funny that you have sites like TV tropes that claim John has debunked Finn and Rey being a thing, then again that site went Reylow a long time ago
Discussions of sex and sexual activity below
Okay but remember that awful reylow meta about how the mini-Death Star cannon splitting open the cave door on Crait was about Kyle and Rey having sex and breaking her symbolic “hymen?” (FYI the hymen is fake, a fact even the meta author had the decency to acknowledge.) Remember also, even leaving aside the disturbingly violent sexual imagery, how it doesn’t work at all because Rey never even set foot in the cave? What is Finn in this scenario, a safe-sex activist and rape prevention warrior? As if he weren’t already awesome enough…😍
However, and I’ve been thinking about this for WAY TOO LONG and I have to share, if the cave symbolizes any kind of sex it has to be about Rey pegging Finn??
I mean the Resistance run to the “back door” of the cave, as does Rey, and what do they find?

Tons and tons of rock blocking the entrance, making it, shall we say, impenetrable.
And then what does Rey do in her climactic display of Jedi powers?

She gets the rocks out of the back door, freeing it up.
Then, of course, she and Finn come together in a joyous reunion hug.

In short, the cave escape scene was about Rey lovingly giving Finn an enema and then pegging that ass all night long thank you for coming to my TED talk
The TFA and TLJ novel meetings between Poe and Rey are both canon
Poe: Hi, I’m Poe. I’m Finn’s best friend.
Rey: Hi, I’m Rey, Finn’s g– other best friend! It’s so good to meet you! Glad you’re alive, Finn thought you were dead. Um I have to go real quick to find Luke but please tell me if Finn wakes up!
*later*
Poe: oh hey that girl is here I should tell her Finn’s alive
Rey: Hi! I’m Rey.
Poe: Um… I know, we met like yesterday. I’m Poe.
Rey: I’m so sorry! I think some of my memories got overwritten by the image of shirtless Kylo Ren burned in my brain. I remember you now!
Poe: Wait you saw Kylo Ren shirtless?
Rey: It’s even worse than you can imagine.
Poe: [grimacing] I don’t know, I can imagine quite a bit. By the way, Finn’s alive.
Rey: About that, who the KRIFF is this ROSE girl?
Poe: He didn’t kiss her back, I swear!
Re: Rey has already seen what a handsome man looks like: in the novel, in Rey’s internal monologue when she tells Finn she’s never met a Resistance fighter before, in her head she reflects on how now that she’s gotten a good look at him, he’s quite… We don’t get to hear the rest of that thought because they have to run but I’m pretty sure that’s the exact word she was going to use.
That’s when she pledged to end the First Order once and for all, because they interrupted her ogle session of the dreamiest dude she had ever seen.
Remember that post you made about Kylo being a handsome villain as something new and fresh for the franchise? I just saw a reylo say that Kylo’s not a villain because he’s not ugly.
Oh yes, that’s been their line for a loooong time. They claimed that when Kylo removed in the interrogation scene and showed a normal, non-disfigured face (handsome to them, I guess), that showed he wasn’t a villain. It would take a while to unpack the layers of ableism and missing the whole damned point in that line of thought. Reylow meta is truly another level of hell.
Rey agrees with me, by the way. In the TFA novelization she doesn’t see him as handsome but unexpectedly ordinary-looking. I mean she has already Seen the face of Finn at this point, folks, she knows what a handsome man looks like.

Finn and Rey as summer camp counselors! They would be the most popular counselors with everyone wanting to be in one of their cabins and knowing they both sneak out after bedtime to make out!
