Finn and Padme for the character headcanons

pastandfuturequeen:

I know this is super duper late BUT HERE WE GOOOO

Finn

A: Finn knows the space version of sign language and uses it to communicate with both resistance members and refugees they come across to offer some level of comfort.

B: Finn can’t dance for shit. He tries to dance and he’ll be on the dance floor thinking he’s killing it but in reality everyone around them just averts their gaze because it’s a crime against humanity for a man with that ass to lack the rhythm of shaking it properly.

C: Finn’s force sensitivity means that he could feel it when Slip, Han, and Luke each passed away. With each death, he lost his lover, the closest thing he had to a father, and his hope for a better galaxy.

D: Finn becomes the new face of the resistance and becomes a living legend and commander, deeply respected and admired and without his loyalties ever questioned because he is given the chance to actually choose his own path rather than denied under the guidance of someone else’s dumbass assumptions.

Padme

A: She tried to sew the twins onesies but despite her fashion sense she has never sewed a damn thing in her life and they turn out like trash.

B: She has placed a whoopie cushion under Obi-Wan’s seat on several different occasions and has never been caught.

C: Padme’s tie to Anakin is so strong that sometimes, while flitting in between the force after death, she emerges and catches glimpses of who he had become and she mourns all over again.

D: She’s actually alive and living her best life sipping space martinis on a beach and Luke and Leia visit her all the time.

Then I’m asking for long term Regent Ursa!

attackfish:

I… It’s not like I didn’t predict this ask.

1. So first things first. how does Ursa get into a position to become regent? The answer is that Ozai dies. The poisoning does not go to plan. Ozai can’t help but gloat over his father’s intended demise, and with his last breath, Azulon fries his son with lightning. Ursa has to think fast. She claims that the second prince was assassanated, and Firelord Azulon died of the shock of seeing him like that. Frantically she writes to Iroh. but he does not answer. She is forced to consolidate power on her own. She claims to be ruling in his stead until he returns, and indeed she intends to step down. She just neglects to mention he never appointed her.

2. And then Iroh does return home a wreck. He has no interest in the throne she so capably kept warm for him, and sinks deeper and deeper into grief fueled mysticism and attempts to journey to the Spirit World. Ruling on Iroh’s behalf while he is right there in the palace is growing old fast, and Ursa’s position is becoming increasingly tenuous. This is something she tells to Iroh. Rather than pull himself out of his grief. Iroh abdicates in favor of his nephew and appoints Ursa his regent.

3. Ursa is furious. This is not what she wanted, and Ursa sees it as Iroh abdicating not only the throne but his responsibilities, and his duty. This is not something she will forgive easily.

4. This does mean she now has near complete freedom over her children’s education, and that Zuko is suddenly officially Firelord. Azula can stop scheming now. She has no path through the throne that doesn’t go directly through her brother. She doesn’t stop scheming of course, but she adopts the dream of conquering the Earth Kingdom and ruling the colonies as Zuko’s viceroy. This is a dream that Ursa encourages, being an imperialist. Azula’s dreams, motives, and insecurities change under her mother’s careful guidance, as she builds a more resilient sense of self and learns to stop using others for her own gratification.

5. Iroh meanwhile is nursing his newfound anti-imperialism, which given how he decided he would rather dump the responsibility of ruling on somebody else in Ursa’s eyes… She disagrees with him, and she doesn’t see why he should get a say now.

The idea of the Fire sibs working toward a united purpose is absolutely TERRIFYING. We saw a small amount of that in Crossroads of Destiny. This is why we can’t have nice things. (Save us, Iroh.)

Erik  Early Life headcannons

youreallyshouldtalkmore:

I feel the need to touch briefly on Erik’s mother before we start because it ties into my head cannon of his early life. I noticed they say nothing about Erik’s mother other than she was an American woman. So I was thinking what happened to her? Is she dead or alive? If she’s alive, where is she? Even Erik during his confrontation with T’Challa says “the world took from him everything he ever loved.” That does not strike me as a person that either A. Grew up with his mother after his father’s death or B. Grew up or was raised by his mother’s extended family.

So my personal headcannon is that she died in childbirth and that N’Jobu raised him alone. I have reasons for why I settled on this. I don’t like the idea that she could be alive and his parents aren’t together. It’s just so cliche.

But if she is dead, that raises the question why wasn’t she shown when Erik went to see his father on the “ancestral plane”? Couldn’t she have been there? My theory is that since Erik didn’t know her, he had no ties to her enough to see her.  So even if she didn’t die in childbirth, she died before Erik was old enough to remember her. Unlike T’Challa who could see the other past rulers because he still had the connection of his father. Or the fact that Erik was so far gone he could only see what was right in front of him, ie only his father. I know there is a bit of loophole in this and to be honest there is probably going to be a loophole in all theories involving his mother but I’m sticking with this.

Now without further ado Erik Early Life headcannons:

lj-writes:

Are we going to talk about the fact that Erik Stevens is a genius who graduated Anapolis at 19 and did postgrad work at MIT? (Or, by Shuri standards, not a complete dummy.) Imagine how the technological advances in Wakanda would have been jump-started if little N’Jadaka had been brought home where he belonged. Imagine him teaching little Shuri and glowing with pride to watch her shoot past him. Imagine him in a friendly rivalry with T’Challa, pushing each other to be better.

And he absolutely would challenge T’Challa on the ritual fight BUT yield in the end. And how him, T’Challa, and Wakabi could’ve been this manace-trio creating havoc all over Wakanda. And how he would’ve pick a fight with M’Baku AT LEAST ONCE because mama Ramonda would be so pissed with him. And how he and Shuri would treat each other as guinea pig for their invention… OR BOTH OF THEM USING INNOCENT T’CHALLA AS THEIR GUINEA PIG OMG.

M’Baku would decide that he likes this young, brash, slightly crazy prince a whole lot and they become fast friends, which in this case means insulting each other whenever they meet. (“‘Sup, ape-face.” “COME HERE SO I CAN CRUSH YOUR HEAD LIKE AN OVERRIPE MELON.”) The menace à trois of T’Challa, W’Kabi, and Erik ride rhinos into a state function, which was their idea of making a splash. They are grounded for a month, during which time Erik gets bored and invents solar-powered propulsion in space.

Erik and Shuri make enhancementa to the Black Panther armor and push a nervous T’Challa, who has serious doubts, off a fifty-foot ramp to test it. Yes, T’Challa eventually gets the hang of flying in his suit. No, he never forgives them for the terror-filled ten minutes it took.

Erik and Nakia are the two top students in war dog training and hit it off talking about global racial justice and making their instructor uncomfortable with pointed questions. Erik has a few Thoughts to add to the intelligence profile on the United States. He and Nakia try dating a few times and decide they’re better off friends. T’Challa’s reactions to them dating are so interesting Erik and Shuri make logs of them for science. (“Subject’s blood pressure is elevated, and his body temperature-” “I can hear you!”) Erik gets sick of it and flirts outrageously with Nakia just to goad T’Challa into making his own move.

Imagine child Anakin building C3PO out of scrap cast-off parts Watto doesn’t think are resalable

Imagine Anakin taking a little bit from each scrap part, pulling a robot arm together.

Imagine his joy when a part first starts to work

Imagine his frustration when an arm that’d eventually be C3PO’s stops working and he takes it apart piece by piece to find where it went wrong and he finds sand inside a piece he thought was sealed.

Now imagine the tenth time that happens. The thirtieth. The hundredth.

Or imagine him working on his pod, making it out of cast-off, worn-out parts. Every time it breaks down, his Force sense shows him exactly where the faults are. A turbine’s sucked in some sand and its bearing finally gave out here. An electrical fault here because the insulation wore away in a Tatooine sandstorm.

A solder joint on one of C3PO’s circuit boards breaks because somehow a grain of sand got into the solder while he was forming it.

A piston works for a week, then grinds to a stop. Anakin opens it up to find it full of sand.

It’s then that he breaks down, a  sobbing seven-year old child “I hate sand! It gets everywhere!”

might be weird but i’ve headcannoned finn as muslim, even though i’m pretty much the only one (i think) who sees it that way. but the parallels to my own experiences as a black muslim reminds me of finn’s experiences in TFA- his struggle for acceptance from both sides and constantly feeling like an outsider…. but maybe i’m reaching. do you have any thoughts?

Who says that’s weird. WHO. I fucking LOVE Muslim Finn! See the ‘muslim Finn’ search on my blog for related posts I have reblogged. Finn as a Muslim American, for instance, would mirror the proud tradition of Black Muslims who stood against injustice and hatred. Muslims such as Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali were voices of conscience who spoke from a deep wellspring of faith and conviction, much as Finn is the conscience and moral authority of the sequel trilogy.

And I love your headcanon of Finn feeling alienated and set apart, which I have heard is something experienced by Muslims in the West and elsewhere. Muslim Finn is awesome and we need more content for it, stat!

Finn Headcanons

moonlightbluehues:

  • Finn has trouble sleeping. He’d always been a light sleeper and that coupled with the nightmares he gets means that he just has trouble willing himself to sleep each time. Later, when the war is over and it’s just him with his partner, Finn spends hours counting their breaths so he can lull himself to sleep.
    • It’s a little thing but hearing his partner breathing softly next to him, laying in the dark wrapped up in each other’s arms makes him feel at ease. Which helps him a lot in his sleep. Back when he’d been with the First Order, Finn had always found himself sleeping with one eye open
      • Extra headcanon is that a lot of Stormtroopers who’d be slated for elimination or reconditioning were often taken at night so as to not rouse any “excitement” according to the officers. Finn had the unfortunate experience of seeing one stormtrooper taken and never return.
  • Finn develops a taste for spicy foods the minute he’s able to expand his palate. He genuinely cannot get over the spices that he knew of but didn’t really get to experience when he’d been in the First Order.
    • Catch this boy saying something isn’t spicy enough later on down the line and added chili flakes.
  • Finn wakes at the crack of dawn and runs. And runs and runs. The nightmares that plague him at night seem to slip away in the early mornings and fall down to the ground with his sweat. So he runs every morning without fail. And only when it feels as though he’s about to bust a lung does he eventually stop and looking up at the sky.
  • Finn is really good at diplomacy. He’s good with his words and is able to convey so much meaning without even trying. He’s persuasive, a natural born leader and that is why Leia has him sit in on meetings more and more. They start off as simply strategic meetings; things that require his intimate knowledge of the stormtrooper training. Then it grows to outlining future battles. Then it grows to coming with her to meet senators and working on diplomatic missions to other planets. It just grows and grows until it’s simply natural to have Finn at Leia’s side. Helping and working with her.
  • Finn has a lot of admirers: people who heard about his help in destroying Star Killer, people who heard about him defecting and people who just look up to him as the leader he’s become. People watch for him, they notice him and it’s a little overwhelming at first. A little too much that has Finn on the edge of his seat. But over time he gets used to it.
    • Plus, people bring him a lot of treats and tbh that’s amazing and Finn treasures them all.
  • There are still days though that make Finn feel disconnect; from reality, from the events that are happening around him. There’s a part of him that still feels as though he’d wake up and he’d back with The First Order, killing at their orders and having no will of his own. Sometimes this part of him hisses that there’s a catch. That there’s always a catch and Finn needs to figure it out before he’s cut loose and set to drown.
    • This usually happens during the moments right after he wakes from his nightmares. Those moments when it’s just his harsh breathing and the slowly brightening sun around him.
  • When Finn first meets his family he got so excited, so apprehensive that he accidently force lifted everything in the space around him….Including his family. They all laughed about it when it happened and Finn wore the biggest grin for like a week when his mother pulled him close and told him “welcome home son.”
  • Finn has an older sister. She’s older than him by about 12 years. She’d been there when he’d been taken; taken right from her grasp in fact. Their meeting is subdued in all actuality. His sister slowly walks over to Finn and pulls him super close and holds him for a really long time. Finn hugs her back just as fiercely. It doesn’t take long for the two of them to cry silently in each other’s arms.
  • Finn is Force Sensitive. Extremely so. He spends hours researching and learning more about his ability now that he doesn’t actually have to hide his abilities. He spends the days learning and listening to holos about anything Force related.
    • He spends a significant amount of time with Leia as she and him go over his force sensitivity, what it means, and how he can control it. Leia, after having sensed Finn’s wariness with how extreme the Jedi’s teachings were (Finn is very much attuned to his emotions so asking him to not accept them, to reproach them is too much) introduces him to other schools of thought. Careful to tell him that each has its own merits and detriments.
