After the disaster at Crait the Resistance is in dire straits with no fighters and no resources, up against the mastodon that is the First Order. It is Finn who through s chance encounter with newly minted Resistance operative Zay Versio finds a path. Her knowledge of the First Order’s Project Resurrection – the code word for the Stormtrooper program – gives Finn the information to fulfil his own dream and the Resistance’s need at the same time, to free the indoctrinated troops.
But convincing the Resistance’s leadership of his risky plan proves to be a challenge.
Meanwhile, inside the First Order, Finn’s former squad mate Zeroes is dealing not just with the suspicion directed at him by superiors after Finn’s defection, but his own increasing doubts about the First Order’s methods and intentions. Unable to silence the screams from Tuanul he hears in his dreams, Zeroes feels himself increasingly disagreeing with the orders he is given.
Covertly finding others who feels like he does, Zeroes slowly begins to build a group of subversive elements right under the First Orders noses.
When Finn’s attempts to reach someone inside the First Order wishing to defect and Zeroes’ endeavors to find outside connections to help him and his out succeeds, they’re both surprised to find themselves face to face once again.
Their old enmity cannot be ignored, but they both know they must put it aside to realize their mutual goal of freeing the First Order’s slave army.
Facing obstacles and dangers from both the First Order and the Resistance, their relationship is reforged in fire as they find that the other man is the one person in the galaxy they can truly rely on.
”- This is my favourite scene, by the way, I think. Just the idea that in the background they’re, like, basically ‘I love you. I love you.’ Kissy, kissy. – Well, I think the fact that you blocked it as something that you catch on to, as opposed to sort of cutting to a moment in there is what makes it great. – I just love that they’re in love” — DVD’s commentary JJ.Abrams&co
Spock:I will be back. Uhura: You better be. I’ll be monitoring your frequency. Spock: [actually quite emotional] Thank you, Nyota.
jj abrams: had the incredibly hard task of making the first sw live action movie since 2005, continuing the story over 30 years after ROTJ, and making an interesting and compelling movie that everyone would enjoy, even the notorious group of annoying prequel hating fans that still rail on the prequels after nearly 20 years. he succeeded beyond anyones expectations, and now tfa is considered to be one of the best star wars movies ever by many. didn’t make a documentary about himself and how brilliant he was
gareth edwards: had the very hard task of directing the very first sw anthology movie, who’s plot was based off ONE SENTENCE in the opening crawl of a new hope, had to deal with reshoots and other issues during production, yet managed to make a great star wars movie and a wonderful addition to the star wars universe. didn’t make a long documentary about how he’s such a genius and how it was so hard being so talented and amazing
rian johnson: made undoubtably the worst star wars movie to ever exist, and one of the worst movies of all time, completely shit on the entire sw franchise and the sw fandom, ruined and butchered practically every single character in the movie, disrespected established canon and threw continuity out the window, treated all the women and poc in the movie like fucking shit, and also supports and ships one of the most abusive and toxic pairings in the sw fandom. DID make a documentary about how amazing and talented he is, how it was such a daunting task to ruin the sw franchise and how genius he is for destroying the story and characters we love
I will never get over how JJ Abrams told John he’d be the star of Star Wars, John cried of joy after he read the script of TFA and was having the time of his life making and promoting the movie …and then Rian Johnson turned up ….
Like I understand a lot of people are wary about JJ coming back for the last Star Wars movie but after the TLJ, I want him back and it’s because I know he won’t screw over the trio. The one thing that will bother me forever about TLJ was how Rey, Finn and Poe all got their characters destroyed. I will forever pissed off about that. It was obvious that Rian only gave a damn about Kylo and no one else. JJ obviously cared about the new trio and I know that he’ll try his hardest to fix them.
Yeah, I know JJ has made some mistakes but I trust him so much more than I do Rian.
Cosigned. “Made some mistakes and was less than perfect” is nowhere on the same level as “destroyed beloved characters so thoroughly it doesn’t even matter if it was incompetence or malice, because the end result is the same.” Fuck, RJ even managed to ruin Rose and she was his own fucking character.
Also JJ fricking LOVES John, as all people of taste and good will do, and will do right by him. He’d better.
Okay so apparently people don’t believe me or others when we say that the First Order are basically space Nazis. Here is a link to a direct quote on the subject.
Are we good now? Can you understand why people don’t want these Star Wars villians being treated as misunderstood babies?
