I’m just tired of people who somehow come to the conclusion that John is older than he says. Like honestly, John Boyega doesn’t look older than he is. Not at all. I guess it seems to be some thing to guess ridiculous ages for people who don’t fit to your beauty standards but you are making such complete fools of yourselves.

Daisy, by her own words, cried her eyes out when reading the TLJ script and finding out Rey and Finn would be apart from each other and had gone to RJ to talk about the script (link). The only other thing she ever says about TLJ is the same as Mark did after undoubtedly Disney told him to stop speaking his mind, she would always say “It’s good to be pushed out of your comfort zone” or that “TLJ didn’t feel like a sequel to TFA, but it’s own thing.” I think that’s as close as we’re ever going to get to a professional who gets their bred and butter from Disney ever talking against a movie from them. Though Daisy did say after a rough day on set filming TLJ that she was never going to play Rey again after IX. This was also at the time Daisy thought that Johnson would be doing IX since Colin was already let go at this time for IX.

John behaved more vague about his dislike of TLJ, but it doesn’t take much to see that he didn’t enjoy it at all. His enthusiasm for EP-VIII seemed to have died down through the months until it all but faded completely and he often said the same things as Daisy, that it was hard to be separated from each other and how different things were from TFA. I mean half of all his plot relevant scenes were cut, but there was plenty of Canto light Bright, Tiddy milking, Ben Swallo, and Holdo pissing contents with Poe left in, so I don’t think it’s a far stretch to believe he hated it even if he hadn’t spoken out as much as Mark and Daisy. Remember, John doesn’t want to end up like Terrance Howard.

I’m all for John Boyega playing a villain in Black Panther from the Jabari tribe who opposes how technology dependent the once spiritual Wakanda is.

I just want John to do his Nigerian accent, and we all know the Jabari are made up of fine thick men 😍 Interestingly the Jabari do have tech on par with the rest of Wakanda, but theirs is wood based (vibranium infused) rather than vibranium based. It would be interesting to see the Jabaris’ relationship to technology, spirituality, and the environment when they rely on growing rather than mining their resource.

I also don’t see why people don’t consider Watership Down. Just because it’s voicework? The internet loves to go on about Mark Hamill’s voicework, and rightfully so, so you’d think people would consider Boyega having a leading role in a big-name adaptation of a beloved book would be considered success. (Moth)

It’s just cause there is a large margin of people who just don’t want John to succeed period. John Boyega’s net worth is literally just the same as Daisy Ridley’s, 6 million, so it’s not about money. He’s gotten just as many big name acting gigs, so it’s about acting chops, and John has proved that he’s one of the most talented up and coming actors there is. It’s honestly just cause he’s black that he goes through this type of rubbish. Black folk will always be under the microscope when it comes to being in a mostly white fan community that has never had a black protagonist.
