Forget BTS- what you need is Mongolian folk rock death metal.

I thought you were kidding and yet

They may be my favorite trad-modern fusion band since Jambinai!

This was the one I was specifically talking about. They’re singing about how politicians don’t keep their words, Mongols discriminating based on bloodline or province and the old ways of life being lost @lj-writes

Omg I LOVE IT

There’s a song that’s been proven
to reduce anxiety by 65%. It’s called
Weightless by Macaroni Union, and it
was specifically designed to slow your
heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and
lower cortisol levels. It’s so effective
that it’s dangerous to drive while
listening to it because it
can make you drowsy. Source Source 2 Source 3

YO O_O

I knew within seconds that I’d heard this before.

It was one of the first Tumblr posts I favorited.

Sound therapists and Manchester band Marconi Union compiled the song. Scientists played it to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay.

Weightless works by using specific rhythms, tones, frequencies and intervals to relax the listener. A continuous rhythm of 60 BPM causes the brainwaves and heart rate to synchronise with the rhythm: a process known as ‘entrainment’. Low underlying bass tones relax the listener and a low whooshing sound with a trance-like quality takes the listener into an even deeper state of calm.

Dr David Lewis, one of the UK’s leading stress specialists said: “‘Weightless’ induced the greatest relaxation – higher than any of the other music tested. Brain imaging studies have shown that music works at a very deep level within the brain, stimulating not only those regions responsible for processing sound but also ones associated with emotions.”

The study – commissioned by bubble bath and shower gel firm Radox Spa – found the song was even more relaxing than a massage, walk or cup of tea. So relaxing is the tune, apparently, that people are being Rex advised against listening to it while driving.

The top 10 most relaxing tunes were: 1. Marconi Union – Weightless 2. Airstream – Electra 3. DJ Shah – Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix) 4. Enya – Watermark 5. Coldplay – Strawberry Swing 6. Barcelona – Please Don’t Go 7. All Saints – Pure Shores 8. AdelevSomeone Like You 9. Mozart – Canzonetta Sull’aria 10. Cafe Del Mar – We Can Fly

One of the comments suggests pairing it with Rainymood.

The combined calm might be weaponized with adding this song and some crackling fire.

When I was literally unable to sleep at all, my senior at work gave me this song to listen to!

My wife uses this song when she’s having near-meltdown levels of anxiety right before bed and it helps her relax and shed some of that stress enough for her to attempt to lie down and sleep.

Mancurian pride!

So today I got out of my house for the first time in three months to go to a music of Star Wars concert my local symphony orchestra was putting on. I bawled during Leia’s theme (didn’t help that the 21st was her birthday) and they let a bunch of kids in costumes have a little parade while they played the Imperial March. There was this adorable toddler dressed as R2. On the way out though this daughter of a hutt was complaining about it, saying it ruined the experience. I almost fought her.

We can’t ruin the sanctity of the Imperial March now can we? That’s a time to reflect solemnly on the glory of the Empire. Seriously what is that chick’s problem. Looks like you went to a great show though, and I’m remembering that “daughter of a Hutt” insult for later 😂 Happy birthday Carrie, I look forward to seeing you on screen one last time 😢

False advertising! Booooo! I can understand why it would be easier that way, since the OT scores are the most played and rehearsed while the scores from the shows and the newer movies are fairly new, but then they should have reflected that in the advertising.

They had a piece from TLJ so you think they’d be able to get something from ten years old TCW and a piece from Rebels. (*cough* Journey into the Star Cluster from season 2. I’ll link you to it if you’d like, it’s gorgeous, mostly violins and cellos. It and Thrawn’s Web, which I can also link you to [chimes, harp and organ, it fits him] are Rebels best original pieces imo. Or mostly original.)

Reblogging again to add

Journey Into the Star Cluster

Thrawn’s Web

Those are beautiful pieces! It would have been awesome to hear them played live. SW fans have heard the OT tracks 100s of times, why not try something (relatively) new?

Tfw you’re silently shouting at the page, “Don’t stop there!! What happens next?!” and then you realize you’re the asshole writing this thing and you have to continue.

Almost on a whim I wove into this scene a recurring image for all three books. I expected to start using this motif much later, but it felt right to begin in this scene. It’s poignant for me because not only is it tied into deeply emotional moments across the books, but it refers to a milestone in Korean cultural history as well.

I was nervous about writing from the love interest’s PoV, which would also be the first male PoV in this draft, but I really got into it once I started. If I thought the heroine had it bad for him, whew, this boy’s fallen hard–and I do mean hard lol. I was so happy to see the heroine from his point of view, her soft fat beauty all in sparkles and pastel lights while I was trying to figure out euphemisms for a raging hard-on. I guess being a young cis guy is awkward that way.

So the love interest is trapped between a rock and a hard place (no, a different hard place because of course he has an erection at the worst possible time) and the Chinese adversaries can show up at last. Finally I get to use some French-derived fucking words. Will I get the sharp tonal shift I’m hoping for? Only writing it out will tell!

Unconfirmed. It’s a heterosexual song 100%

I wrote it and I’m gay as hell lmao

how about maybe

the song is for anyone

because we’ve all been there, wanting someone who’s with or wanting someone else

No…. I wrote it… it’s for The Gays™️

Hey @babeobaggins ? I love you, thankyou

Damn, what about the straights who actually have a passion for love?

They can choose from the 1,387,192,406,175 other songs that are about heterosexual love?
