Oh god you’re right! TFA drew 3,273,879 viewers to theaters in Korea, RO 1,019,300, and TLJ 952,726 as of last count. SW was never that big in Korea, but for a saga movie to underperform a spinoff? Will be laughing about this forever.

“you identify with kylo in a way you never did with vader. I know I do” we know you do rian, that’s literally all u ever talk about

I’m tempted to get a Twitter account just to fistfight the Korean reylos who parrot the usual poorly made arguments about how Kilo and Rey are yin and yang, tossing in the culturally specific sexual insinuation of the term to boot. No bitch, you do NOT distort our culture for this shitty white ship fight me at the Shinchon graffiti tunnel I will destroy you
I live quite close to the shinchon graffiti tunnel (abt 20 ~ 30 minutes by bus) you can always ask me to join
@mylongestyeahboyegaever WE WILL DESTROY THEM TOGETHER
Is the queer-coding in Joint Security Area intentional because I’m liking this movie but I’m not sure if it’s for the intended reason
In class discussion today one of my classmates described it as “like Romeo and Juliet but with friends” and I’m dying. “Like this famous romance but yknow not romantic or anything because they’re all guys”
Straight people interpreting light queer coding is wild
I’m curious, who was queer coded in JSA? I didn’t notice at the time, but it was a while ago and things may have slipped my notice.
yeah the queer-coding is intentional. the director wanted it to be more explicit (so that even staight people cannot argue) but the production company didn’t allow him to.
Damn, I gotta see this movie again!!
My husband showed me Korean ryeloaves on Twitter and I am Ashamed @mylongestyeahboyegaever is the only fellow Korean SW fan I recognize you’re my only ho
i don’t know of what’s happening on twitter and i’ll never want to know lmao and probably because korean is my first language, it’s harder for me to tolerate korean reylos than reylos on tumblr
Idk whether it’s because it’s my first language or Korean just works that way but I suspect my responses would be a deal harsher, too.
