FYI, I googled and this is where the black panther written languages came from: “In fact, there are two written languages in “Black Panther”: one based on the ancient Nigerian language of Nsibidi (which dates as far back as the 4th century), and a more evolved version that Beachler developed with great imagination”

Wow! They really did their research for this movie. A lot of behind the scenes work!

Unexpected Benefit of Black Panther: my local pet shelters went from having something like 50-60 black cats between them to having NONE, becuase they’ve all been adopted out and named after the characters. “T’challa” is the most popular, but there are a fair number of “Okoye”s and “Shuri”s as well.

…and one very confused Elderly Humane Society Volunteer wondering why someone would name such a sweet cat “Killmonger”.

THIS IS AMAZING

today at the bookstore i asked the lady working if she had any lgbtq books that i could check out and her eyes magnified in what i mistook as horror and i thought i had offended her and then she said “i have a bag of lesbian fiction in the basement i’ve been waiting for someone to finally ask” and she all but burst down the stairs to get them for me

bless

“I have a bag of lesbian fiction in the basement” is my new go-to pickup line

I am yelling!

I was watching bits and pieces of TLJ and I realized something. When Finn gives his speech to the Resistance about them having allies, that people believe in Leia and that they have to fight, the Force theme is playing!

Not the Star Wars theme itself, which is often used for heroic moments such as this, nor even the Resistance’s theme, but the Force theme.

I even found it in the OST. It’s the beginning of the track titled The Battle of Crait. Right after it merges into a mix of the Star Wars theme and The Resistance’s theme, but the first 17 seconds where Finn holds his speech? That’s Binary Sunset, aka the Force theme.
