Sometimes I am wondering if those people who keep insisting Kylo isn‘t a facist and that calling him one means those who believe he isn’t one will get descriminated against…. remember how Pablo Hidalgo said that the ST is another story about facism. Like… who do they think the facists in this story are? The Porgs??

Is it true that Pablo Hidalgo is a reylo? I’ve been searching for some info about ti, but I can’t seem to find anything and he deletes his tweets almost daily:(

As far as I can tell he stays scrupulously out of the shipping wars, as he should? I think the speculation is based on an interview where he compared Rey shutting the door of the Falcon’s on Kylo to the door closing between Michael and Kay in The Godfather.

@loopy777 and yet they’re celebrating like it’s a good thing 😑 they’ve also compared Frollo’s obsession with Esmeralda to Reylo in another moment of unwitting self-awareness.

He’s not a Kylo apologist, witch a lot of times is a prerequisite to shipping reylo. He has said things along the lines of:

“Rey was raised by sand, she didn’t become a murderer.” In regards to Kylo’s turn being bad parenting.

“[People on my timeline are just realizing the Empire is evil] Those are bad people Brittany.”

He (or another member of the story group) also compared Rey and Kylo’s bond to Maul’s and Ezra’s, which is very much not romantic.

“Those are bad people, Britney” was such a legendary quote I need to use it more 😂😂😂

Yes, the Maul and Ezra comparison comes immediately after the Michael and Kay comparison. I don’t think it was a romantic reference at all.

I know this is super wishful thinking, but considering the story group has to have some control over the movies, I want to hope Kylo’s story is really interesting and deep, and Rian talks about him a lot because he’s proud of it. It’s just anything he says about it sounds terrible for NDA reasons.

I mean what does it say that Pablo Hidalgo is the only LF exec who can be reliably counted on to say fascists… are, like, bad…

Friendly Reminder that the Head of Continuity of LFL Has Repeatedly Said that Han and Leia Were Not Bad or Neglectful Parents

ewokkey:

Pablo Hidalgo: “For whatever reason – I felt the need to get roped in on – is the immediate assumption regarding Kylo’s disposition, about Kylo being a villain is that, ‘it’s an indictment of Han and Leia as parents’. I don’t believe that and so then I get dragged into that conversation and I realize like, ‘I need to be careful’, because I might be taking away someone’s speculation about Han and Leia – about exactly everything that happened. But at the same time I feel it important to say, ‘It’s not because they’re bad parents. You know, sometimes bad people just happen, you know?‘” (September 16, 2016)

From the canon Visual Dictionary, written by Pablo: “After the Galactic Civil War, Han Solo’s life took unexpected turns as he became husband to an influential New Republic politician, a family man, and — for a time — a successful racing pilot.”

(Also confirms Han had no role in setting up the New Republic (he resigns his General commission in the Aftermath trilogy, contradicting Adam’s comments that Han neglected Ben in favour of the New Republic).

Family Man Definition:

Macmillan Dictionary: a family man a man who likes spending time at home with his wife or partner and children

Cambridge Dictionary: a family man who has a wife and children, or who enjoys spending a lot of time with them

American Heritage Dictionary: a family man is a man devoted to his family
Collins English Dictionary: a family man is a man who has a partner and children, especially one who’s devoted to his family

Merriam Webster: a family man is a man who has a wife and children, especially a man who enjoys spending a lot of time with his wife and children

Pablo Hidalgo: “[But Abrams and Driver saying in the documentary that Han and Leia were absent parents?] Or that’s what Kylo felt about it. There’s a difference. And more to it. The story hasn’t been told. There’s years to go.” (April 1, 2016)

“It’s funny how people have completely different reads on what is said in that doc [about Han and Leia’s parenting of Ben]. I don’t think that’s the whole picture.” (April 7, 2016)

“[Career women can’t be good mothers idea needs to go back to the 1950s and die!] Which is why that’s not the reason [for Ben’s fall to the dark side], despite blogs’ insistence it is.” (April 10, 2016)

“Does Kylo strike anyone as the type to take personal responsibility? Of course he blames everyone.” (April 10, 2016)

“I’m not saying [Han and Leia are] perfect. But ‘women can’t have career & family’ or ‘Han never grew up” aren’t great ideas.‘” (April 10, 2016)

“[Carrie Fisher also said Leia & Han neglected their son. Who’s word do we take on this, JJs & actors or yours?] Or you can wait till the story is done. That is an option, you know.” (September 19, 2016)
