As far as I can tell, the only times I’ve actually initiated contact with reyyylos–especially younger ones–is when they’re derailing posts or crosstagging. That’s bad manners, plain and simple, and how would they know to do better unless they’re told they’re doing wrong? And I’m certainly not going to just smile and nod at people who contact me first to be rude, no matter what their age.
Now if I’m wrong about this and I’ve actually gone out of my lane to pick on young shippers that is clearly out of line on my part, and if you can point out such instances I’ll apologize and not repeat such incidents. Nowadays I don’t really even bother contacting them for the most part though, I just screenshot and mock like I know they did with my posts.
Suddenly reylos are babies who must be treated with kindness no matter what when their whole thing in 2015-2017 was talking about antis’ lack of maturity and them being mid to late 30s and older themselves?
God i love how reylos pick and choose whatever the hell they decide to be upset about and run with it just like they pick and choose moments in canon to accept and ignore.
It seems to be a new party line with them in their creepy hive mind way, because shortly after putting my exact age in my header I think I was told like four times in the space of a week to act my age. At least one of them, a 19 year old, took the trouble of getting in my inbox to very condescendingly tell me to act my age and stop shipping Finnrey which, haha, no hon.

@thehungryvortigaunt my first thought was “that doesn’t sound like me,” but I went searching and you’re absolutely right, I did! (Racist, sexist, abuse-romanticizing addition to a Finnrey post at link.) This is why I like to pull my own receipts, I sometimes don’t remember the exact shit I did. In my defense I think it was a response befitting the dignity of the particularly nasty derailment that prompted it. 😂

I was curious enough to go through my own #anti reylo and later, #and furthermore tags to look back at my own interactions with Reylos in the past half year or so, and here’s what I found:
So like, exactly which of these instances–and these are pretty much all of them I could find as far back as 2017, feel free to go look for more if you have the stomach for it–constitute picking fights with younger fans, anon? Should I have been gentler in pointing out things like crosstagging or suicide baiting, or just ignored it because that’s evidently the mature thing to do? Should I have been nicer to people who got into my notes or inbox?

Anti Finn/Finnrey is by far the biggest anti group in the SW fandom. Yet the derogatory “anti” is applied exclusively to people who don’t support Reylo.
I mean I got an ask from some reylo kid (who probably forgot to turn on anon) asking why I’m shipping Finnrey when it’ll never be canon and that I need to grow up, I was blitzed with racist anons until I stopped answering them and started sending receipts to @diversehighfantasy instead, and I got an antiblack racist slur sent to my inbox–and I’m not even a big Finnrey blog. But sure anti Finnrey isn’t a thing. Sure there are no anti Finnrey and no racist Reylos. Keep telling yourself that op.
Receipts: X, X, X, X, X, X (straight up, Finnrey is an inferior pairing to Reylo), X.
And some older stuff just to show that this have bene going on since TFA came out, it’s not a new phenomenon: X, X, X, X, X (that fucking “Finn is a beta male” meta that for the record is still getting notes more than two years later and no reylo is calling it out), X.
Wanting Finn hurt, demeaned or just straight up hating him because of his narrative importance that should to reylos rightfully be “Ben’s”: X.
I could go on, but if you haven’t got the idea by now you’re too racist to be helped.
tl;dr: reylo as a group and as a ship is hugely racist and have wished Finn, Finnrey and all fans who dare prioritize either to disappear to the point where they’ll harass fans of color and even John Boyega for speaking for the pairing and character. And it is not just a “few bad eggs” because the rest of the group either cheer this behavior or silently condones it which is just as bad.
