Driver on Ren

I didn’t find anything like what that anon is saying about Driver knowing how Kylo’s story ends up but I did find this interview where he legit says he does NOT see Kylo as evil and tbh, that troubles me a little. He killed his father. He killed innocent women and children, including young padawans. It would be like Ian McDiarmid saying he didn’t see Palpatine as evil. For Driver to seriously say that in an interview does make me uneasy about where Lucasfilm, which is filled with racists who were deepthroating Kylo Ren in the last movie, are going to take this character. L.J.: This link doesn’t work for me, but he has been quoted as saying something similar (link on Fox News site). OTOH he’s also stated this makes Kylo Ren even more dangerous and unpredictable. Driver is also the kind of “edgy” method actor who stays in character on set and turned down a chance to hang out with Mark Hamill in advance of TLJ (link), so I’m also fairly confident he was talking about getting into his character’s head.

rey: [ok, it’s simple, just tell finn you’re in love with him and want to go out with him]

rey: [actually, maybe just take baby steps and ask him out]

rey: [he probably already knows i’m in love with him, i don’t need to tell him right away]

The Binary Sunset

The second sun returned to its original shape. The flare divided, with the majority following Rey, and a small irregularity causing a flash of light to bathe the desert. Luke Skywalker exhaled as the Tuskens and Jawas around him cheered. In Luke’s brief attempts to Force Project before, he had crashed to the ground upon returning to his body. As he levitated in the air, he realized this was different.

C-3PO looked over to congratulate his old friend, but parts of his arms have begun to fade.

“Master Luke?” C-3PO walked over, worried. Luke looked down at his hand becoming transparent.

“One time, Threepio. Just Luke.” Luke realized what had happened. He only hoped he had more time than Yoda had.

“Yes… Luke,” C-3PO pieced together what was happening. “Can I contact someone? Perhaps Master Tano knows—“

“No, it’s okay,” Luke replied, as tears began to form in his eyes. “It’s my time. I just need to say my goodbyes.”

Loved ones, on and above Tatooine, and across the galaxy, felt a presence, warm but fading. Leia felt a right hand on her shoulder. Lando felt a left hand on his.

“Everyone,” Luke spoke out, and the Force echoed in his intended targets. Even R2-D2 experienced a new phenomenon, like hearing something without sound waves. “I don’t think I have much time left. I… want to say I love you. While I can.”

Caro and Lowbacca, victorious on the front lines, sped towards the last location they saw their old mentor. Lando rushed towards his hangar.

“It’s okay, everyone. I’ve had a great life. Caro, Lowbacca, all of my students. I am so proud of you. You have become far greater Jedi, greater peacemakers, and greater souls than I could have hoped for. Mara, Ahsoka, you’ve taught me more about the Force, and more about myself, then I thought was possible. I leave the future of our family in capable hands.

“Leia, I wish I could’ve helped your son. I’m so sorry.”

“No,” Leia uttered through tears. “This is on him, not you. You—“

“I know,” Luke responded. “I don’t blame myself. And you can’t either. Everyone here today, everything that happened, was because of you. Remember that. You saved the galaxy.

“Chewie,” Luke reached out specifically to the injured wookiee, recovering on Kashyyyk. “Artoo,” to the droid struggling to understand a new sense. “I don’t know if you can hear this, but get better soon. Someone needs to look out for these jokers.

“And Lando.”

Lando, almost taking off, stalled his engine. The tears in his eyes welled to the point of being unable to see. Luke paused, unsure of what to say to the man that had gone from a complete stranger to a complete friend. He settled on something simple, yet true.

“Thanks for the years.”

Lando laughed.

At this point, Luke was almost gone. C-3PO would have cried if it was possible.

“Oh, and Finn?” Luke sent out a private message, as of an afterthought to his heartfelt farewells. “She’s out there. And keep the lightsaber. It suits you.”

Luke’s body became pale and slowly his clothes began to sink.

“I’ve held on too long,” he said aloud, only to C-3PO. “I’m going soon.”

“If only it wasn’t on this contemptible planet,” C-3PO joked. “The furthest from a bright center of the universe.”

“I don’t know,” Luke whispered as he stared forward, leaving the mortal plane. “Just look at that sunset.”

I wanted to expand the Jedi ranks a little bit. Right to left this time, to shake things up a bit.

Alternate Mara Jade, played by sci-fi icon and legendary individual, Whoopi Goldberg. (Someone age appropriated for a Mark Hamill love interest.) She’s the counselor at the Jedi Temple, and also serves as a talented diplomat. Hints of the old Mara Jade are sprinkled as Easter eggs, and she fights with a pink lightsaber crystal flying around.

Lowbacca, Luke’s first apprentice, now a Jedi master. He works alongside Caro in the frontlines, and rides a Kybuck into battle.

Lowbacca’s apprentice is the daughter of Wicket and Kneesaa, and the first Jedi of Ewok origin. She’s aggressive, but Lowbacca keeps her away from battle. (Moth)

Before JJ announces Naomi Ackie is playing a CG character, or a minor role, or dying as motivation, here’s a possible character design for Caro. Caro Freemaker! (Or Calrissian-Skywalker)

In JJ’s version, she could be Luke’s apprentice returning from a long mission in the Unknown Regions. But in the lj-writes-verse, Caro is Ahsoka Tano’s latest graduated apprentice and commander of the Jedi field forces. She wields twin shortsword lightsabers and is Kylo Ren’s greatest foe. The two fight each other to a standstill early in the third movie, which is good enough for her, as she buys time for the Republic Army to arrive to back her up. Slightly later, she’s the one who teaches Finn and Rey how to fight with lightsabers. In the film’s climax, she takes down Phasma. Those are just some ideas, of course. (Moth)

The Last Strike of the Empire

For the individual writing ESB into TLJ…

First things first, the cast of characters.
Luke=Rey
Leia=Rose
Han=Finn
Chewbacca=Poe
C-3P0=BB-8
Vader=Ren
Piett=Hux
Boba=Phasma
Emperor=Snoke
Yoda=Luke
And, to round out the cast, early introduction of Ackbar and Mothma as Leia and Holdo respectively.

Plot Changes:
1.) The movie starts where ANH left off. Imperial Star Destroyers converge on the Rebel Base on Yavin IV. Ackbar orders Gold Squadron to take out a destroyer but a lot of people die, so he slaps Chewbacca, who was leading the charge.

2.) Han says he’s leaving, since this isn’t his rebellion. Leia tases him and brings him on board one of the fleeing ships.

3.) Obi-Wan tells Luke to go to the Dagobah system, and that Yoda will single-handedly save everyone.

4.) The Emperor uses the force to beat up Piett and yells at Vader to take his ridiculously iconic mask off. For the rest of the movie, Vader’s bald head is exposed to the audience (to humanize him!)

5.) Bald Vader attacks the Rebel Fleet with TIE bombers (but only once). He has a sad flashback to him and Ackbar in the Clone Wars together, but his cronies blow up the bridge anyway.

6.) Ackbar, being a fish, swims back on board and passes out for the rest of the movie. Mon Mothma is put in charge, which gets Chewie’s goat.

7.) The Empire is tracking the Rebellion, slowly, and Mon Mothma has done nothing but stand still for three hours. Han and Leia decide to fly to Bespin to find a master codebreaker to magically disable the Imperial ships, and they bring C3P0 with them.

8.) Luke finds Yoda and tries to give him his lightsaber, but Yoda throws it into a bog. Also, there’s like, little birds everywhere.

9.) Cloud City has slavery and animal abuse, the latter of which is a big problem for Leia, but Han loves the place until he sees a tauntaun get smacked.

10.) Instead of getting Lobot, they settle for Lando, whom C3P0 broke out prison using his coin launcher.

11.) Luke mopes around on Dagobah, but Bald Vader makes contact with him and they begin a creepy back and forth, complete with a shirtless scene and Luke getting over Vader’s killing of Obi-Wan.

12.) Yoda trains Luke, but Luke gets angry when he finds out Yoda tried to kill Bald (only used name for Vader at this point) after he massacred children on Coruscant.

13.) Lando is offered money and betrays his new allies.

14.) Boba Fett shows up, but Han takes him out.

15.) Luke joins Bald on the Star Destroyer, where Bald kills the Emperor across the galaxy, and they fight Imperial Guards in an admittedly visually stunning scene.

16.) Bald reveals he’s Luke’s father, but Luke leaves.

17.) Mon Mothma activates her omega-beam to destroy all of the ships, but she waited too long and the rebellion, out of gas, crash lands on Hoth.

18.) Wedge tastes Hoth and says, “Snow.”

19.) Han, Chewie, and Leia fly out on snowspeeders to stop the AT-ATs, but most of them give up before they get halfway. Han keeps going so Leia shoots him down to give him a line about when they go low we go high. Also, she loves him. Han didn’t know.

20.) Our Rebels safely make it back inside Echo Base, and Bald beats up Piett some more.

21.) Yoda Force projects onto Hoth.

22.) Luke lands on Hoth and every single surviving member of the Rebellion climbs on his X-Wing to fly out of there.

Obviously, make it your own fic, but please do share when done. (Moth)

My version of Snoke would rely less on the “disfigurement=evil” trope and more on the cosmic side of the Force. This scene would take place shortly after Ben joined the Galactic Union. He’s not exactly at the Kylo Ren stage of his life, but he’s close. After Hux and Phasma induct him into the Union, when he falls asleep he has a dream (or does he). He’s in a void, with one solitary massive figure, unnamed and neither human nor alien. This being knows Ben’s beliefs and ambitions, and speaks to him on the levels Luke and his parents never did. The being plays up the idea that the Skywalker legacy deserves to be loved. The being shows him a dark potential future where Mandalorians and Republic soldiers stay at war for millennia. And most importantly for Ben, the being says that he is special, and can be the savior of the galaxy. All of the entity’s encouragements mimic the talking points of fascistic recruiters, and Ben is completely won over.

I don’t know if this being exists, or if it does whether or not it’s in the physical realm. The design is a mixture of Snoke and the Force Priestesses from The Clone Wars. Potentially, this is the sixth sister, Fear, which descended to the semi-mortal plane to instruct her first students, which became both the Jedi and the Sith, obsessed with legacy and power from the beginning. Of course, none of that would be said in the movie.
