It’s so funny that Tony’s like “When i realized my weapons were in the wrong hands killing people i shut it down” LMFAO what did he think the very rich people buying his BOMBS and MISSILES were doing with all that? Did he think they were spending millions of dollars on weapons just to sit on it? Lol i think Tony was more like “I didnt care that my weapons were killing people until someone else almost killed me using those very weapons so now i pretend like im a decent human being”
People talk wayyy too much on that post, writing whole essays about Tony thinking it somehow negates the simple, basic, truth : Tony’s wealth comes from war-profiteering and mass murder and when he took control of his family business he did nothing to change that. He used his incredible intelligence to build even more weapons, kept on getting rich thanks to worldwide conflicts, and is complicit of mass murder. It doesnt matter if the mass murder was committed by the US army instead or terrorists, it doesnt make it ok. And the fact that he eventually (after /years/!) evolved and chose to do better doesnt absolve him of his crimes, especially that he only changed because /he/ almost died. Building bombs and missiles just to sell them, when you know damn well it’s gonna be used to blow up people, is evil. Yeah he doesnt do that anymore, but people have the right to dislike him when he has such an apalling origin story. Not to mention that he has an unlikeable personality lol
