Have you realized that a lot of Valkyrie’s characterization in Thor Ragnarok is very similar to Jessica Jones’ in her show (minus the icky abusive stuff Jessica pulled with the two black men in the show) yet fandom never complained Jessica was “male coded” or “a man in a female body”? Mmmmm. How come we never saw any post declaring taht Jessica was “more of a man” than Luke and Kilgrave like that person saying Valkyrie was more male than Thor and Loki? How come alcohol addiction, violent temper, past trauma that makes her a reluctant hero are “male qualities” qwhen we talk about a black woman like Val but they are okay and even lauded as feminist writing when they belong to a white woman like Jess?

T’challa at age 5: Baba, when I am older, I will join the Dora Milaje and protect the throne and our country!!

Thor at age 5: FATHER WHEN I GROW UP, I’M GONNA BE A VALKYRIE AND RIDE A WINGED HORSE AND HIT THINGS WITH MY SWORRRRRDDDD

This totally happened

But since this likely DID happen – can you imagine how amazed Thor will be once he hears about the Dora Milaje?

the real story here tho

Valkyrie meeting the Dora Milaje, these beautiful strong warrior women who fight as one. Okoye, who looks at her with cool and assessing eyes and nods, a slight incline of her head as regal as any queen.

“Sister,” Okoye calls her, and leads her to the armoury because while they can all fight alone, none should have to.

There were things that we talked about that we allowed to exist in the characterization, but maybe not be explicit in the film,” admits Thompson. Pay attention to her agony in a flashback where Blanchett’s Goddess of Death murders the rest of Valkyrie’s warrior clan. “There’s a great shot of me falling back from one of my sisters who’s just been slain,” says Thompson. “In my mind, that was my lover.
