I was talking with a friend who recently (within the past 2 weeks) saw TLJ for the first time. One thing she said she really had an issue was (I’m quoting her) “Rey and Poe flirting at the end” because she thought Finn and Rey were endgame. I told her not to worry about it because JJ Abrams wasn’t likely to go there. But looking at the TLJ novelization, that part was a big nothing, so I’m wondering why Daisy and Oscar played it that way? Is there a script available so I can see the direction?

I’m still amazed at the ability of viewers, both for and against Doomerey, to blow a literal “hi” out of all proportion. Poe and Rey saying hi is more romantic than Rey crying on Finn’s chest or her giving him a message we don’t know. Sigh.

A script with directions is not available for TLJ so far as I know, only transcripts of the dialogue.

The only reason I’m wondering if we’ll see Yavin is that no Latine actor has been announced to play Kes. I think that would be a really big deal, though they could be keeping it under wraps as a surprise. Announcing a middle-aged Latine actor who isn’t Jimmy Smits would be a dead giveaway. I think Batuu is more likely, especially since there was a whole colony of force-sensitive young Chiss girls being held there.

Yeah, the lack of casting for Kes is what leads me to discount it. Besides, as @jewishcomeradebot has said, Black Park doesn’t make a good jungle (link). Disney sure has been seeding Batuu with story hooks lately, haven’t they?

I doubt he would be in outdoor scenes a lot, due to his mobility issues. There’s a rumor that JJ will keep Billy Dee seated due to the elderly actor’s mobility issues, and if true his scenes are likely to be filmed on set. I don’t want BDW to strain himself, of course, but I hope he’ll play a little of Lando walking. Palpatine was an older guy who used a wheelchair, why shouldn’t there be a hero who needs a cane like BDW does? Besides, you know Lando would have a killer stylish cane collection.
